I'm selling a BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) 1996 Silver Eagle. Mintage of Eagles in 1996 was by FAR the lowest ever, making them more of a collector's piece than bullion. This coin has virtually no wear-considering all Silver Eagles are packaged in tubes and sent out in Monster Boxes. how can you sell something that is not in your possession? *EDIT: And it is still considered "BU" as a guy (who kept it out of circulation) sold it to the shop I work at, and I jumped at the opportunity to buy a '96. Obviously Silver Eagles do not ever really enter circulation. Although, some become pocket pieces for people (like a lucky coin) and get trashed. Those you can still call "uncirculated" but not BU, or Brilliant Uncirculated.
