Does anyone know of a current cryptocurrency crowdfunding website? I can’t think of any and I was doing some research in to them and found nothing. If anyone knows any a link would be really appreciated:)

If there isn’t one yet, what would people think of one and do you think it would be successful?

Aren't ICO's a way to crowd fund your websites while you offer tokens in return ? I don't know why would anyone invest in a crowd funded business with no apparent outcome over investing the same money in ICO's which offer them tokens ? Do you have anything else in mind ?
Why would services rely on crowdfunding if ICO's manage to raise equal amount of funds ? I don't think this will be successful as people would invest in tokens than waiting for an equity.

I totally agree when they say ICO´s are crypto crowdfunding, for me its the evolution of a regular crowdfunding.

Maybe the topicstarter meant a crowdfunding site where different crypto-projects can attract investors. If so, check wings.ai, etherium-based crowdfunding platform.

I should have explained what I meant. Something similar to Kickstarter or Indiegogo but you can invest in ideas with cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

@ OP: In the cryptocurrency world - an ICO is analagous to crowd-funding.
There are many sites which announce ICOs but each ICO is left to do their own project and campaign management.

The list contains a lot of p2p lending services... which is a model of crowdfunding, but one that's also suffered a lot of setbacks since the industry began. China actually first started its current crackdown on cryptocurrency due to the onslaught of P2P lending companies there that accepted crypto deposits. We're talking about the hundreds.

Here's a different suggestion: someone above mentioned ICOs or token generation events, how about looking at incubators based on blockchain projects? They help you launch your idea, crowdfund, and even a little funding injection. Waves Lab is one of them.

I'm not sure if such a model would work for blockchain projects - there is a grey area in terms of accountability.

Waves Lab is interesting as they use the already established Waves crypto as the foundation. Of course this is only to make their Waves platform/ecosystem more popular or perhaps to get a larger slice of the BTC+ETH pie. As much as it seems that they are assisting you - in the end it only enriches them further.

Anyway, it works. I've just checked - Simdaq project has recently reached $5m hardcap with their assistance. So what's the problem?

Already clearly ICO investment has been explained by Joel. When you want to invest on ICO crowfunding before you should confirm yourself that concern coin will become a higher than invested amount. Else your fund will be wasted buddy.
Conclusion, crowfunding is not a wise idea if you are newbie. Expert can go with that.

What I suggest is creating a topic on the altcoin section or economics section and post your pitch there. Be sure to include all the details and give the funders some tokens in exchange. ICOs are not really that easy to stage if you're on your own. But believe me, there are people here who are willing to invest on your project if it deems successful.

Yes exactly, but you have to make a good thread/proposal so people can invest on your project. There are so many things that you have to consider before posting your project you have to explain your aim perfectly, showing people behind that project, the design is also important here. Anyway there is a platform about this crypto crowdfunding (they're running their ICO right now) people will use their platform to raise funds.

All of these are great, but do any of them accept cryptocurrency as means of investment. Most of these I recognise but I don't think a single one accepts cryptocurrency.

Besides, how do you guys think the best way to do it would be. Have a person set it up and have a goal of 25 bitcoin for example and then have a wallet everything is paid in to and if they reach their goal, pay this to the entrepreneur? Opinions are welcomed!

I will tke a look at Ethereum.org and view the source code. I hope that it would take off if I did a crowdfunding page.
