In addition to the anonymous VPN, web hosting and filesharing providers mentioned before, it would be cool if some IT freelancer sites, many of which offer an escrow service, accepted BTC. Any other cool ideas?

Anything which accepts payment in return for services or digital goods is a great candidate for Bitcoin.

Ebay is too tightly attached to paypal for it to ever accept bitcoin as payment.

Some sort of alternate trading site would be good then.  I think it might outcompete e-bay if it cuts out the transaction fees that paypal charges.

paypal also makes certain sorts of trading difficult, trading in alcohol and tobacco, for instance, cannot be done with pay-pal as far as I am aware.

Someone created a craigslist type site called bitlist.

I saw that.  Bitlist.  Needs some tweaking still but it is a very promising development.

Another target audience might be the scandinavian Free Internet / pirate movement.

i would like to see bitcoin in any aspects of businesses as a mode of payment such in fastfood,restaurant,in all universities,
different malls,company etc....so everybody happy, :D ;)

What about candy automatics or buy your train ticket with Bitcoins. Think that all daily things where you now pay with fiat could also start with accepting bitcoins. Only why should they do that when people when they need something also can pay with fiat. Think that a total accept is far away from now it don't look if it's going really fast. Still don't see any btc atm in Utrecht big Dutch city.

It would be awesome to see more server hosting companies accept Bitcoin. Most hosting companies that accept Bitcoin are really overpriced.

I would love to see Amazon accept bitcoin, i buy so much from them and would love to be able to do it with bitcoin.

There's loads of places id like to see it be used.  Ebay and amazon are obvious ones,  fast food outlets would be good since i don't carry a wallet but i do carry my phone.  At the end of the day i would be too tight to spend them anyways though.

Can't say about acceptance at any place, but I think it should get merged or either get accepted by PayPal, it will boost the price up even more than where it is currently.

I'm satisfied with the amount of the services/goods i can buy online with bitcoin but i wan't to see more "real life" stores that accept bitcoin and be able to buy food,drinks,gas etc.

And this topic comes up periodically.   I'd like my landlord to accept bitcoin, Walmart, Walgreens, and Starbucks.  Then we will know bitcoin has arrived.

I think the really big companies might be among the last to accept Bitcoin - simply because they are most exposed to governmental regulation. However it doesn't mean that Bitcoin can't arrive without their acceptance. Even if Bitcoin use would be limited to private market activities, this person-2-person use alone could make Bitcoin highly popular and credible as a currency. Rent payments in Bitcoin are a significant contribution in that regard.

For Bitcoin's sustained success I think it is essential that it will be accepted by the primary sector. That means agriculture and commodities. If that is achieved on a b2b basis, then Bitcoin will be unstoppable, because it will be the foundation for a closed loop Bitcoin only economy. Fiat conversion will become obsolete. That is what I hope for.

I think on different stores like clothing store or grocery store so all we need to bring before we go shopping is our phone and prepare our bitcoins to use as payment.

robotic stuff store. it's difficult to find a store selling robotic stuff here in my city, so it's cool if I can buy robotic stuff online with bitcoin.

Start from a Domain name and end from a big house. almost everything being sold and bough right here on the web..
but we can't use bitcoin generally in our own street and nearly shops.. I wish every shop add a bitcoin accepted label. and we can use bitcoin to buy milk and slice there.

From a few months I am waiting for the godaddy that it accept bitcoin for the payment for domain and other services, if godaddy started to accept bitcoin then it will be more happiness for me as paypal sucks a lot in transaction fee etc.

Well, yes. Bitcoin is designed to be a currency of the future that can serve people better in their day to day lives, however, considering that you can purchase things from amazon and other sites via bitcoin directly on sites like purse.io, it's not really a problem.

I would like to see Bitcoin accepted in many countries because in some countries you cannot make use of them which is a real let down. I think that it would attract more people if you are able to use Bitcoin in more countries.

Just use Namecheap, they are way better than Godaddy and they accept Bitcoins  ;) I really don't understand why so many people still use Godaddy, other than their marketplace there aren't a lot of reasons to register with them. They don't even offer something as basic as 24 hr live chat support.

It should be nice if you are can buy everything later with Bitcoin and that is because we have to make Bitcoin more acceptable and that should be perfect.

If it is the grocery store around the corner, a cinema, restaurant or almost every shop and big companies online.

This thread was created 6 years ago, and seeing how much bitcoin was distributed since then it a good start for bitcoin. The places that we would like to see bitcoin accepted are of course firstly on Amazon and Ebay. I also buy lots of things on Aliexpress, it is a china based website and it's a large shop including Alibaba. There are alternatives to pay in these websites through third parties but it takes more time and more fees.

I would like to see bitcoin acceptance in automotive industry. If such acceptance happens possibly bitcoin would soon reach lot people than the present.

Uber - I realize you pay after the trip, but you can deposit something like $200 and get your fare deducted from the deposit.
Tor - if I want faster traffic, find a way to pay exit/hidden nodes to carry my traffic.
Adult sites - very few of them accept bitcoin, maybe because they also want to verify the age of the payer

I think now there are a lot of online sites which accept payment through bitcoin, and for people to buy anything or any service these sites are enough, as they can get anything from these online bitcoin stores which they want to buy.

Well, Bitcoin is not a physical currency and not designed for using it physically. bitcoin is just a web based digital crypto currency and mean point of bitcoin to use it for buy/sell onliine. and we can almost buy everything with bitcoin on the web.
as I said bitcoin is not made for actual use but in some countries it is still being used in shops, restaurants.

As far as we know, Bitcoin isn't yet formally recognized by governments and authorities as a "currency". But in practice, Bitcoin is likely no different than accepting payment in other forms, such as cash, or gold, or scrip, or gift cards or foreign currency. it seems good if its accepted in all means.

Same here, I would love that if you can buy everything through bitcoins. If only I can go shopping by just carrying my phone with my blockchain account in it and I would just scan the barcode of the seller or the store and transaction done. :)

I think E-bay, Amazon is looking for a way out of this problem. since they also do not want to take a hasty decision. I think E-bay and Amazon still consider Bitcoin, because in the Bitcoin system will not guarantee against the money they send can be restored again.

The only dream which remained in the minds of people is that governments accept bitcoin, so that it is allowed every where in their country and bitcoin will get a great success in the field of finance of that particular country.

I am not saying that is is not possible. in future you may see that bitcoin will being used every where. but unfortunately we have to accept that truth that bitcoin is not suitable right now to use it physically. only some shops in USA and Brazil accepting bitcoin because these shop owners are old bitcoiner, but every shop owner don't even know what bitcoin is.

The only problem in both cases is the confirmation waiting time, there is already many ideas regarding off chain transactions so maybe in the future we will see btc being accepted in many different places.

I know im going to get crucified for this, but I would like bitcoin to be accepted in bank accounts that can be insured and easily moved into fiat so I can use bitcoin day to day within the system. Probably wont happen any time soon though. And no I wouldnt give them all of my btc but just some to hold.

I would like to see paytm accept bitcoin so that i can easily trade my bitcoin to INR and i can transfer those INR to my bank account instantly without having submit my KYC instead i've to provide a valid mobile number to create an account.

the most important is an offline store or physical merchants accept bitcoin. such as a restaurant or supermarket stores accept bitcoin. of course it would be very helpful for bitcoin users. and I'm sure it will increase the number of users who live in bitcoin. atm bitcoin might also needed

I believe and are sure that you say it is true. But without the tools to deliver the transactions in the offline store or physically I don't think it will be done. Because of the Bitcoin network needs the internet to conduct transactions. Hopefully there is a way out and quickly resolved

I think it's because Ebay was owned by Paypal, in which Paypal is one of the rival of bitcoin as payment gateway ::)

Why you need banks to hold your bitcoin when you can hold it on yourself with your wallet.
Anyway, there are sites that make you convert you coins to fiat with certain banks like BDO. Here in philippines we're using coins.ph to be able to do that.

for me i would like to use it to buy anything because bitcoin have so many feature that can provide that like it's easy to send bitcoin to other bitcoin addresses, as well as identity confidentiality when making transactions.

you did not specify your answer . worldwide is too general and all of us know that bitcoin is now being used on most countries worldwide  . btw my answer would be : i want to see bitcoin being accepted on our place ( locally ) on most of the stores  because right now i havent see any stores that accept bitcoin on our place but on our country there are some major cities that are now accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment  .  right now ,  i can only cash in and cash out bitcoin to fiats or fiats to bitcoin ( vice versa ) via money remitance center and on some banks  .

I wanted to see bitcoin accepted in my place as a source of payment whether its for buying and selling goods etc or payment services and jobs. However i don't see it will happen soon but i am still hoping it will happen in the future.

I want bitcoin accepted in stocks market. Buy stocks using bitcoin will be very interesting. Actually both are investments so while one of both price rise then I can buy it then sell it again to gain profit. I think it will be good pair of trading. There are a lot of online which accept bitcoin so I want something different.

Well as much as want, anything that can be accessible to transact to any payment, shopping or anything that would be less cash and can be transmitted to digital payment and can be useful anywhere, anytime.

Bitcoin is already accepted on our own country but i would like to see bitcoin being accepted on the rest of the countries that banned it because i believe that if bitcoin will be accepted on all parts of the world i think the value of bitcoin will be super high   but i also think that this isnt easy  .

 this may think more time because govenrment needs to see the improvements of bitcoin before they will fully decide to accept it as a legal currency  

I'd like to see major online retailers such as Amazon and eBay allow Lightning Network or bitcoin payments, but we are still a ways from getting there. In the meantime, there will be no shortage of apps that will facilitate payments in bitcoin to these retailers. Still, official recognition by these retailers would be a major coup.

Of course, as a bitcoin user, we probably want to see bitcoin accepted everywhere around the world because that will make bitcoin more popular then the value of bitcoin will break and grow over time but this dream will probably take a long time or may not even become a reality when many countries still have no plans and allow bitcoin to join their area, Bitcoin may need more expression to convince these fastidious countries

I want Bitcoin to be used in all the famous platforms just youtube and Facebook. Bitcoin is widely popular for its Anonymoucity, and can be used by many individuals in these platforms and honestly they all need such a cryptocurrency in the daily life it's just they do not know how to use it till now. So if famous platforms accept Bitcoin cryptocurrency then they can get a pretty good idea on how this thing works.

Today, bitcoins have become increasingly popular. And the literacy of people become much more in the field of cryptocurrency. There are countries where you can pay with Bitcoin in a very large number of places, take at least ordinary cafes. But I will not pay Bitcoin for food or some kind of clothes, knowing that Bitcoin can grow very high over time. For me, bitcoin is an investment, and I try not to waste it on all sorts of little things.

I know that there are some countries with cafe's that accept Bitcoin but only a few of them exist and the mass adoption is still not occurring at this point of time but maybe in the near future.

Imagine how awesome it will be to see Bitcoin integrated in all systems of payment across the globe. Fast transaction speed, security, low costs for transactions, ability to make payment across borders and other forms of benefits will be enjoyed by users. There will be indeed true financial freedom and financial satisfaction as the decentralized nature of Bitcoin will bring the power back to the people.

Rather than the transaction speed, and all the other factors mentioned it has its best feature is decentralized functionality. Maybe there are more payment services that are highly faster than bitcoin in terms of transaction speed and other relative benefits, but the technology behind bitcoin is gonna rule the world. Right.Since education is our top priority,it would be more beneficial to us if we start to accept bitcoin as payment for tuition fees and miscellaneous.Right then,students will value more about bitcoins because they will start to understand the potentials of bitcoin not just online but even offline too.

This is the first thing that comes to my mind ; Amazon, Facebook, Apple and Googleplay. These are the most popular websites where a lot of transacctions are happening digitally while Apple has a lot of purchase. If btc is just introduced as a payment on these sites then we already succeed taking over mass adoption.

Not only that, all we want is for all existing stores, both online and offline, to accept payment by bitcoin, any shop store, foodcourt, electronics store, clothes store, and so on. that's what we all want right? but how long we have to wait for that to happen?

The use of Bitcoin has now increased, there have been many offline and online stores that can accept payments with Bitcoin. This is a progress so we all need to be able to improve the implementation of crypto usage much more because then the development of crypto and Bitcoin will improve.

I want BTC to be accepted in various online shops. Using a credit card or something, in my opinion, is too complicated and wasted time passing through the payment process which can sometimes be rejected because of something (not because the balance problem is insufficient or limit). The ease of BTC and the speed of the process is very interesting and I'm sure this will be preferred by everyone later. I hope local and international online shops can receive BTC as a payment method.

We can see that major brands and outlets such as KFC, Subway, Reddit, OkCupid, and more have already started to accept Bitcoin. Even Philippines can now use Bitcoin to load and travel.
But as of my opinion, it should be accepted through all the major payment gateways like paypal, and more.

With how the industry being accepted, we need to improved more and make things more visual to the entire community, the market outside are just waiting for the possible adoptions, more people to get involved, possible to have more services and more businesses to be open around.

So far we have reached certain level of acceptance of Bitcoin in online stores. But we miss bigger acceptance in real world, in phisical stores and that is still at quite low level. Personally I would like to see Bitcoin being accepted for goods like real estates, cars and similar. But for that I guess regulation is also needed.

Aside from been able to make transactions in some online stores, i think it would be nice to be able to use btc in local stores offline, especially groceries stores, that will be very nice and can greatly expand the use of btc, all you need to do is fund your crypto spendable card and make transactions with it, i hope in near future, many merchants will start accepting crypto as form of payment.

As people expect bitcoin's price to be over 100k US dollars, I would like to see it as an option to pay for something that costs a lot. For example flat, house, cars. To become something that you dont often use pay with. Like gold. Gold owners dont go to bank safety box, to "cut" 0.00001 of gold to buy a coffee or donut.

But for everyday usage and small spending use altcoin with high transaction-per-second rate.

School isn't place of bank services. Give your children some cash, even visa/mastercard isn't great choice because they may lose card or etc. I have no idea why do you have to push your children to use bitcoin. Also there are possibilities your child will download something that contains malwares (especially if he/she owns android) and once your bitcoins are gone, you can't return them. Also they don't need further research of bitcoin in teen ages.

Bitcoin until now is volatile and many countries also didn't approve about bitcoins to be mode of payment or other services. Until now many people didn't understand what the cycle of crypto in our world. The best thing now is just go with the flow or production of bitcoin.

The ideal place would be ebay but since the same company owns paypal that will never happen.  2nd choice would be Amazon but they rather create their own coin before they started to accept btc.

Yes, of course they can catch it but there may be some contracts extended there. Just as Bitcoin has to be convert into dollars, then they will deal in business.

I think in order not to list further, we can conclude that we all want Bitcoin to be used as simply as fiat money. I would not mind getting a bitcoin wage.In fact, I met the real use of bitcoin only in online casinos.I am sure that in time the list will expand.

The volatility of Bitcoin and in general cryptocurrency will have some sort of worries from online shops and physical shop to accept it as a method of payment. Bitcoin has achieved much in this very few years of it existence and little time from now it will be accepted as a payment method from many vendors. I would like Bitcoin to be used in all spheres of human life, but first of all I would like for large online stores to start using Bitcoin as a means of payment.

I agree, because once a big online store accepts bitcoin as an option of payment, then some other online stores will also make it possible to their stores. Maybe because of the unstable value of bitcoin that's why, they still didn't want bitcoin as a payment for their online stores.

The development of Bitcoin is already so good, now the number of companies and places that accept Bitcoin has increased dramatically. Even in my country there are many places that accept various bills, I use it for various electronic bills. I buy telephone credit, pay water bills, pay internet bills and pay various other bills.

basically we all want bitcoin to be accepted by everyone, all countries, and all governments. I also want to see people using bitcoin everywhere. it's just that many regulations conflict with that. so, for now, I just want the government to accept this development as a first step.

I wish i could see BTC is accepted in Aliexpress and Amazon. Many of us cann't buy things from those sites because of not having any Visa or MasterCard.

I think it will be very perfect on groceries or in stores like Walmart. You just won't wait for some people to count their money and change in the line because they can just scan the amount that they need to pay in an instant by using bitcoin or other altcoins. There are a lot of sites and services which can accept bitcoin payments such as Netflix can surely use bitcoin payments. big sites like facebook, Google and Amazon can accept it. and other sites which deal with local merchants in a city can accept bitcoin payments. all these things which are used by common peoples this can make them interact with cryptocurrencies as they need these type of things every day in their life.

Seeing Bitcoin as a mode of payment in Restaurant or in Food Chains where it would be easier to use and would be less hassle to both the customer and the owner BUT there must be proper rules and regulations before it can be done. Maybe we should see automatic Bitcoin teller machines where you can withdraw your Bitcoin into cash real quick.

Legally most bank in around the world still haven't accepted bitcoin more likely to some industries. These are believed are websites and companies that have joined the race to accept which I will likely to see more.

I want more than that, at this time bitcoin has indeed been accepted as a method of payment, but on some third parties only. For example, when you want to pay electricity, water, television and so on, you need a third party to receive crypto payments for the bill, all I want is we can buy anything directly without the need for a third party.

I would like to see bitcoin accepted everywhere, to be honest. I really hope that countries that don't want bitcoin to be legalized or regulated in a bad way adopt it in a nice way. Accepting bitcoin does not only help us people who are involved in here. But it also helps other people to be honest. It is a great question. I think, it would be great if we can use BTC in e-commerce platforms. For example E-bay running global operations. Amazon also. And I think global food chains, would be great also. Like Burger King, McDonalds, Starbucks ...etc.

The stores I buy from are Steam, Amazon, G2A. Steam used to accept but now they don't as all knows. G2A accpets Bitcoin only, but I would like them to accept some other alts as well, makes it easier sometimes. Amazon accepting Cryptos will be the biggest news of the market, and it will surely help increase the user base.
I do have the wish to see local stores to accept them, but it is a far fetched dream or wish, so let it be kept aside.

In my personal view and opinion, i would like to see Bitcoin be accepted in the real-world like the acceptance of fiats across the globe. In my country practically bitcoin is accepted, because people trade in international currency such as the dollar, euro and Colombian peso, but in turn they give the option of bitcoin, especially when it comes to selling cars and houses, taking into account Count some machinery.

This post happens last 9 years ago and it looks like a lot of changes happens with the market where many business institutions accepting bitcoin and some cryptos. This adaptable market system will surely make a hit to the community but only it gives a disadvantage cause some individuals used these things to commit any illegalities.

I'd love to see one day I'll be paying all my debts using bitcoin, which I used to purchase at online stores like the local places like Amazon. However, it's not yet happening because of some problems that occuring with digital currency adoption. Although many people had positive views with bitcoin's capability, there's also who doesn't have proper idea towards it. They tend to speculate negatively without any proofs, that's why some new weal traders and user declined their interest on using digital or crypto assets.

This year has given bitcoin more opportunities to show to billions of people how advantage it is compared to our local fiat currencies. Hopefully by 2020, we can see bitcoin being used as payment in hotels, universities or other big establishements that will open for bitcoin for more great opportunities in the following years to come.

Well i am a regular customer at eBay and sometimes Amazon so it won't be a bad idea to see this online mega stores start accepting crypto as another form of payment, if this can happen with eBay and Amazon then other smaller stores will also join the race, i think and hope we are getting closer to that time when we can easily shop with our crypto without any stress, btc will surely evolve no matter the odds.

I highly doubt that 2020 will be different from the past years. In as much that Bitcoin has shown the world and billions of people how diverse it can be over local fiat currencies, it still has a lot of challenges to overcome for it to become fully accepted by a large number of people  for massive adoption. People are much concerned about the volatile nature of it which is the cause of people not willing to use it as an alternate mode of payment.

Although it is an exciting scenario, I don't think that either Amazon or Ebay will be accepting Bitcoin (or for that matter any of the decentralized crypto-currencies) in the near future. First of all, they have partnerships with the fiat processors such as Visa/Master/Paypal. The last one is effectively owned by Ebay. Overstock faced a lot of issues while accepting payments in BTC. They had to deal with the volatile exchange rates and auditing and tax complexities. They went ahead, as they were a small company and needed to expand their user-base. But why should a giant such as Amazon put so much effort in order to get a few thousand customers?

I would like to pay by BTC not only when I'm shopping online but also in real life. It would be convenient to some people, that's for sure. Another great idea is ability to pay with bitcoin at the airport, for the plane tickets, as somebody said here before. Bitcoin could be accepted also at online gaming platforms or TV series and movies platforms. I think it would be even more popular than paying with BTC (for example) in grocery stores.

I want to use bitcoin in real shop not online, it is because in my country, i never see a single shop where people use bitcoin and buy something. I know in future it will be happened but it takes time.

I just want the local banks in my country to start accepting bitcoin as part of the means of remittance, this way the huge fee spent on sending money to other countries and some of the limitations will be reduced. This will open ways for affiliate financial houses to start using the bitcoin in their daily transactions.

Of course I would like it to be adopted in our country.  But I'm not sure that this is at all possible.  Because our government is against the introduction of cryptocurrency.

I hope that in the very near future, bitcoin will be accepted as a payment in some malls in country so that there's no need to convert it to fiat. A bank in my country became crypto-friendly and established their first bitcoin atm. I hope this move will be followed soon by another bank and later spread to the countryside. In travel, a local airline company here is also planning to accept bitcoin as an airfare payment and I hope this will become a reality soon.

I want to see bitcoin received in a shopping area, I think fluctuations are still a weakness for sellers of goods or services accepting bitcoin payments, many countries do not regulate or ban bitcoin and if a store wants to accept bitcoin I think it's legal, which is a problem is about transactions and values ​​and lack of understanding of the community towards this technology.

I live in Poland and I have heard about some restaurants where you can pay with FuturoCoin (because it's polish cryptocurrency). I wish there were also places where you can pay with Bitcoin (in real not only in the net) like restaurants or shops. Of course it would be great if Bitcoin was accepted by government and we can use BTC to pay bills, pay off loans, use it at petrol stations etc. but I think that's too complicated to implement in these times.

I wish that the acceptance of Bitcoin can also be available into availing products and services into super markets and other merchants like buying stuffs online because it will be much easier and convenient if that will be made possible since the advancement of technology supposedly helping us to have a better life in an everyday basis. Currently, Bitcoin-accepting services operated by Bitcoiner and do not have any organizations issuing this service. I hope that in the future I can buy Iphone or Aple electronic devices with Bitcoin. Above all, giants like Amazon and Tabao will soon accept Bitcoin as a form of payment.

Yes.. this was one of the targets of Satoshi, but I don't think that it will be practical anytime soon.
