Just read the news of gox going for "maintenance" tomorrow (11th oct). They are going to add LTC, finally!

I am so excited. Have been waiting for this for soo long now. :D

For the people that are thinking its just "maintenance".. just think about this.. they will never say "we are adding ltc tomorrow" directly because that will shoot up the prices of ltc on btce too high even before the launch.

So they will definitely say its "maintenance" and then BAM! ltc on gox.

I don't think that an "EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE" means Litecoin will be added. Best case scenario, they won't even update the trading engine.  :D

Whats wrong with holding? It's like getting in early on a stock. Would love to see your reaction when LTC eventually gets added. It's obvious that there is a BTC force that doesn't want LTC to succeed or is preventing LTC from a big rise/bubble. Assholes

Litecoin will happen but thread title is misleading since nothing has been confirmed in the last press release.

And for the record I do have some LTC and I am happy to hold onto it while others are selling off.  The way I  see it is, I would rather hold LTC with the potential to lose 50% of it's value, then the chance of missing out when gox is implemented and the potenial 250% price hike that I could miss because it will take minutes, and there won't be any restarts, false starts or second chances.  If you miss it you will always think... "what if..."

Once the price starts to rise, you will either have to react very quickly or you will need to be a holder of LTC already.

about the engine I am speculating that this is why they will bring the exchange down tomorrow, to make it possible to implement medas the new engine, I am an IT operation engineer and I can tell you that on hardware level you can do hot swap without a problem, this means when we maintain the hardware there is almost no down time or if it is a major one it takes only few minutes, it is different when there is a software upgrade/maintenance.

so it goes like this we usually we clone the server and do all the necessary work on the clone offline, when the clone is ready we bring it online and take down the original one, but in this case there is trading going on all the time so they cant do it this way, so they have to go offline to prevent writing new entries to the data base, so they will go offline and then just import/export the data base to their new servers, test if everything works fine and again bring it online.

Which leaves only one possibility, I think medas is going online tomorrow, and if they tested medas and it is working they tested LTC  implementation as well, it make no sense taking down the exchange twice, once for medas and the second time for LTC, at least an IT professional would not do that.     

Gox won't say that we are adding ltc tomorrow or any specific date. They don't want the ltc price to crash once it is on gox.

Each and Every "maintenance" is a potential time for ltc to get added.

So, the people that are saying that ltc is not getting added and its just maintenance, you should stop being so naive.

I know ltc wasnt added in the past but that doesn't mean it won't be added ever. So every time gox goes down for maintenance, could be when they finally add ltc.

That is why i have bought as many ltc as i could today. IF ltc does get added to gox, i will be selling at 3-4x times higher price and if it doesn't get added, then i will be holding until ltc goes above $2. Theres nothing to lose.

It's an emergency maintenance. Read people, read!

Whether or not this means anything, remains to be seen, but it's certainly a strange reply.

You could have stopped at "It just mention maintenance."  and you would have been correct.

but you added "LTC will be added 10 years later."  and this makes you look like a twat.

They did not announce LTC was going live in an official press-release, so I don't see why anybody thinks that it will happen.

I would speculate that Gox is STARVING for good news, and would LOVE to talk about anything positive.  I would speculate that if they were taking LTC live, they would be shouting that out as loud as they could.  Since this isn't happening, it's not logical to me that it's going to happen and I wish people would stop posting misleading information.

Lack of communication from Gox is even more frustrating than their service.  For all we know someone may have dropped some sushi in the server and it caught fire.

Just had a letter from a Doctor E Brown it reads...

Unfortuantely the letter is dated 11/10/23xx something i cant make out the last 2 digits- the space-time postal service has a problem with time-burn on letters traveling back this far in time.

I would rather got it as warning and last time for sell-out.
LTC doesn't have any better functionality then WDC or DGC - frankly it's very slow altcoin and we need something which will confirm transaction within second or two.

That is their official API.
Not only does LTC appear there, but so does NMC.

LTC has been in that API since April or so.

no you are wrong, in this api LTC never appeared, the new thing here is that LTC have many currency pairs beside USD, this was never on their API before

i wonder how many times this same rumor will be posted about. hundreds? thousands? who knows. all i know is that mt gox isn't going to shut down for emergency maintenance for two hours for LTC. i don't see it happening. but that is just me.  :-X

It's going to happen eventually, but they would make a public announce if it does. Just don't believe it will happen sooner in the near future.
