Title: BTC Faucet, What features do you look for!
Post by: Novalok on October 11, 2013, 04:17:37 PM
I'm currently rewriting a BTC Facuet script, and plan to launch soonish.

What features do you users look for!

Also any tips on generating revenue for the site.. More detailed than GET ADS FOOL :P

payout should be 1BTC / 24h

don't bother making one if you can't offer this

The faucet should payout, and also should have the option to save up and payout once the amount to cash out is not as small, to save a ton of dust hitting the blockchain

excuse my ignorance but, how does this faucet thing work? (in general, not this one in particular)

Currently i will be using input.io, as i search and search and cannot find the Coinbox.me API information.

I will make everything reasonable.. There is 1 faucet that max per use is 50 Stotashi, and payout 40,000, So thats crazy.

I want it to self sustain. So it wont go dry. Just let me know what people here think is fair. And while 1BTC per would be nice, i am looking for serious answers.

I'll make the payout as high as possible, nothing in more fun than a Facuet over its head that dies out after 2 weeks.....

And i'll try and make it something special but in the end a facuet is just a place to get more free mBTC, and the more facuets the more BTC you can get

CoinBox.me doesn't have an API. You must use their faucet system.

I made the faucet script myself and I support BlockChain and PeerBet withdrawal. I might add Inputs.IO support, but there are way to many Inputs.IO faucets out there, so I don't know yet. Also I made a Puzzle Faucet so people have to do something before they get their BitCoins (and it's fun to do ;D)

Other then that, I use BitAds for my ads. I get the ad revenue in BitCoins and pump it straight back into my faucet.

Well, i've got an great faucet idea, i'm working on. Hopefully the only of its kind. So if all goes according to plan adspace might be in high demand :D

Bitcoininformation's faucet is pretty good with its multiple withdrawal options.  I don't like having to use an email address for inputs.io and so I avoid all of those.  (I'm not down on inputs, I just don't like that aspect of it.)

The best faucet I think is still dailybitcoins.  It has a decent and variable prize amount and allows folks to store up amounts and cash them out anytime within 30 days.  The vouchers are also a nice extra.

I don't know if you can, but beware bots that drain faucets very rapidly.

Good luck and thanks for trying to contribute to helping newbies get some btc.

You are more than welcome.  I should also add that your 1 in 10 chance of getting triple prize is a good way to do variable prizes that avoids the hitting F5 over and over again syndrome like on dailybitcoins.

I realize all faucets have capchas but despite this there are lots of issues with bots.  Obviously no one has solved this fully yet, I hope you can as that would leave more btc for others.

Good Luck!

That would be a fire hose. :D

Features for a faucet:

- Referral scheme with some promotional material (few banners)
- Several withdraw options
- Very small CAPTCHA (a mouse click would be fine, no typing 4 word sentences)
- Minimum 1000 satoshis per dispense
- Random time interval between dispenses
- Sound alarm for when another dispense is available (so people keep the page open)
- Random jackpot for most frequent requesters (this may require some registration)

Revenue ideas next time. :)
