I'v found a upcoming website which also offers life prices, like Coinmarketcap. The website looks more appealing to me as it has a fresh and young look. I use https://www.cryptocompare.com/ is good you add you portofolio of ICo and the site advise you the prices, you can add notes for you know where you have that tokens... is good!

I visit the link that you posted here and it looks like user friendly like coinmarketcap. You may try this if you want,  https://www.cryptocompare.com/ , cryptocompare always send me email if there's new alternative coins added and some news about on it, this one is good exchanges too for me and simple website design.

I didn't understand your destination. Are you looking for a review of that site or a better alternative of CoinMarketCap


Best alternative of CoinMarketCap is

• coinkapp (https://coinkapp.com/): you can find social feeds, some comments about currancy and all/ most cryptocurrency stats.
• Onchainfx (https://onchainfx.com/): have more than over 2050 market cap.
• Coincodex (https://coincodex.com/): cleaner interface and nice visualizations.
• Coincheckup (https://coincheckup.com/): too many information’s

Remember that these sites may give different results from the prices you find in trading platforms [like bitfinex, binance, bittrex, ...etc]or wallets.
If you want to get average values, use search engines such as Google by typing the currency name + price.

Good interface, I've seen lately that there are too many crypto ranking websites that are going out. But I have bookmarked coinmarketcap because I'm simply confident using it and if some other ranker will be known in the future, CMC will be out and everyone will be depending on it.

Everyone and their grandma is building a price tracking website now. To be honest, I think that this is a good thing because of all the spammy adverts and shitcoins that CoinMarketCap include.

onchainfx.com is nice because of the "spam classification" warning it includes next to coins like BitConnect, so maybe you'd like to add something like that.

I'm a freelance web designer and in my opinion, coinmarketcap is still far better than coinranker. Why?
The bolded text on the coin name, price, volume, supply and market cap doesn't help much. It just made the important information hard to read.
Anyone have noticed it?

I do not see any problem with bolded text on coinranker,for me this is not problem-but since you are web designer you are probably looking at things from a slightly different perspective then average user.

I like coinranker just because is more mobile friendly,in my case it is loading much faster then coinmarketcap and it fit perfect on my mobile screen.It also have light option which is nice thing to switch for day/night time.I also like a more modern design with automatic price updating, coinmarketcap is so far number one page and the most famous among users,but other similar websites surely attract some users.

coinmarketcap is already a big brand, and it is difficult to offer something better. They will probably stay as an industry standard reference for a long time. Though I have some ideas what may be done extra to offer a better service, maybe I will create something of that nature some day.  :)

I have checked a bunch of sites before and one thing what i was missing is real time price change not the 24h  /1d/7d and so on but more like 30~mins 1h for me its crucial to have this around as i dont have enough time and patiense to scroll through all the coins out there and look for the ones rising recently i been using delta its a good app for your phone to watch coins and set alarms you sohuld check this one out it has an option to see how prices changed during last hour and it updates every tiem you refresh it aldo you will have to add coins you want to look at by yourself.

There are many application in play store and websites to show the market place movement of the bitcoin and other altcoins mate. Next to coinmarketcap, I love to coingecko and coinmarketapp to check the price frequently.
But still none of the site can compete with the coinmarketcap's listing.
They have added the tokens and coins with the perfect movement and details on it. Dominance and marketplace are mentioned top of the homepage. I really like the way do it.

Don't forget to check our this World Coin Index (https://www.worldcoinindex.com/).It looks one of the best alternative option for the CMC since where the wrong information about the crypto currencies found.

You can add https://www.worldcoinindex.com/ in this list and the list goes on. As more and more bitcoins and altcoins are becoming popular people are getting such sites made for the information of the people and to get traffic n ads earning etc.

But i still see coinmarketcap to be better of all of them and it has a big name in crpto industry.

Nice alternatives to coinmarketcap. But I guess I will fairly stick to cmc for now because I don't want to chance things around in my end. Usually that is the first thing I do when I woke up early in the morning, check the current price and see how it goes.

But I don't have anything against those other websites mentioned though, yes I would agree that they all look good and loads much faster as compare to cmc, but I guess I don't want to break my habit on going to cmc for the time being. Unless they go on a scam accusations of sort like patronizing scam ICO in their ads.

Oh! Yeah!  Like old habit die hard or that you don't try to change a habit while on old age. I'm also using cmc and satisfied with it for now, no reason to change.

I don't know why many people compared some sites to beat CMC. For my opinion, CoinRanker has simple GUI so it fast loading, i don't see much different features from this both exchanges, so far i know every those webs has showing little different on price and market volume datas.

I think we need to use alternatives not for the design or bold texts,recently there were fake details were found in the coinmarket cap which is not acceptable in an reputable website because many people thinks that CMC manipulating the prices by giving the wrong details.So we can compare the details in two or more sites before investing or trading.

I am aware of both cryptocompare and coinmarketcap websites mate. Really both are linked mostly. Cryptocompare gives you out all the details about the in and out bitcoin investment to usage but cryptocompare will give you space to learn the live chart on every coins and very flexible one for any person.

As op mentioned various website has been launched but none can be compare with the CMC. It is getting views as it getting that time to now.

Absolutely right there are lots of alternatives but when it comes to traffic and preference people do still stick with CMC and even myself do really have the same choice.Thank for those links being shared though which i will visit or surf those ones and might get some interest into other similar sites with CMC. As long as it can gives on the informations that we do need then its a go and this one would only matter or persons preference.

I use for a long time https://coinlib.io/. Real time data, various useful services and cool user interface. CMC owners only making money from advertising and do not care about contemporaneity :-[

There are only few parameters that should be considered when comparing between 2  cryptocrurrnecy information sites: 1. How easy you can gather information from the site, 2. how the website handles manipulated markets such as OkEX and other future contracts markets that may affect the price and lead to price manipulation and how friendly to developers they are( how many requests can you do per minute and etc).

Coinmarketcap is not answering any of this needs and I believe that it is just about time until we will find a strong replacement.

There are a lot of flaws in different kind or part of website, that is also include the coinmarketcap.com, which mean there's no perfect website to human needs specially on this time. For me, you don't need to beat the coinmarketcap.com, but you can find other site just to balance and differentiate what you need most of their service. Beating or destroying someone (human, company or whatever entity / tangible or non tangible ) is not a good idea for me.

From my opinion, it's not easy beat CMC as they has been taking top place for some years become cryptocurrencies market tracking capitalization webs. So, just like you, i will visit CoinMarketCap as first place when checking current price updates on some market exchanges.

Most of the time fake websites only sharing here and there. So users kindly check the review of the site and then invest on it bro.

I don't like CMC or any other similar website. If you are looking to trade or buy to hold you should look at the price in the exchange you are going to buy. These kind of websites give you an average that is not always very accurate considering some exchanges have pretty big disparities in price so it's always better to look at the exchanges individually.

It's not that bad if you want to look at the whole market but the possibility of manipulation is a risk. It already happened when CMC removed the asian markets, don't remember which ones exactly, but that caused the average price to drop, even though the price was still the same and basically created a snowball and made the price tank for real.

Many people like CoinMarketCap and I think they will not want to switch to a new site. It seems to me that CoinMarketCap has more possibilities for analyzing crypto-currencies and their estimates.

I like coingeko more than coinmarketcap.com, this CMC makes it hard for fresh coins or tokens to list them, they need to have a minimum volume to list them!
And you may look for some coin or token price and you don't find it on CMC but you would be able to find it on coingeko if that thing has been listed even if it's volume Is low, it also has covered ICO which is a cool option!

This irritating that I only know one and that is coinmarketcap. I am a little bit embarrassed that I only depends on one site.

I think to look outside the box or even trying some other site as references, this ignorance in me won’t be good in a long term investment perspective.

So I’ll take the precaution and learn more about this alternative. Thanks for the links.

You can use any website that you find suitable. But I still prefer to use coinmarketcap because CMC has a friendly interface, good support for the phone, good use and many other features.

We cant blame ourselves yet we do always go for the popular ones that's why we wont really give any attention into the outside world but it doesn't matter because most of them do get data on most common site.
We do know CMC's reliability and its being used for how many years now. There are other options but I doubt most people would still end up on the same site for preference.

Coinmarketcap is the best price tracking website for all the crypto currencies. Then every tokens and new altcoins looking to get listed in this site only so none of the newcomers can fight with the CMC giant. They will be always top in the market mate.

If anything go near that also that would not be a coinranker website. May cryptocompare can equip their site and roar further in the market.

No not all of them, but I can't argue about the price they extract from the different exchanges with the most common or should I say the most popular cryptocurrency. But if you're talking about some ICO tokens listed there then there's something fishy at CMC.

Coinmarketcap is a juggernaut.  Everyone I know uses CMC to check prices and coinmarketcap is considered the best place to have your project listed.  I really do hope another website dethrones their spot.  CMC has been involved in many shady tactis and profiting off insider knowledge.  I've seen a few scam ICOs advertised on their website as well.

Although there is some information about Coinmarkercap giving misinformation about the value and information of coins over time, it is still the best cryptocurrency monitoring website today. I think CMC will have better strategies to attract interest and invest in the projects it advertises.

I believe these new ones will find it hard out running cmc.

That is very unlikely unless it's smarter. Everybody wants something free and valuable. Few people spend the money to pay for unwanted items. And they just love to benefit. It will be hard for us. The replacement is not good at all.

How popular are all these alternatives to coinmarketcap? Do they have a lot of traffic? Does any of them also have an app for mobile?

Many devs are already angry with coinmarketcap as listing to it has become a big dask now a days (I smell the same thing from the subject line) but the rank which is based on number of circulating coins * market-price is somewhat meaningless as many pre-mined and corporate coins are finding their dream rank easily. (for example eth with unlimited supply and ripple as a corporate coin).

These sites are good for providing us some list of coins along with some real time information on those coins. But, what I actually want to mention is, the ranking of these sites and using this site for finalizing investment option based on the rank they provide are things, an investor must avoid. Refer these sites for your investment decisions but do not make your final decisions ONLY based on these.

Coincodex is cool, but I think Coinmarketcap is a website all cryptocurrencies want to be listed the most, cause it's infamous through the world.

I have read your post and some comments here. I'm glad some people recommend sites that can display prices and movements of all crypto currencies. Since I first joined Crypto, I only used coinmarketcap to see the movement of all coins. And I will try on the sites mentioned above.

I think that whatever market cap I will look for is the source of the coin just to see the latest volume and information conditions through the official twitter owned by the coin so that I can get information and can determine the right time to buy and sell coins.

Personally I go with coinlib, they also have an android app on playstore, the good thing about coinlib is that it gives you a faster update about already trading coins even in unpopular exchanges

There are quite a number of alternatives and websites designed to offer price information, market volume and capitalization.
CMC is currently on top of that market, as it is the most visited destination by crypto enthusiasts.

Coinlib I think works better for me, I got introduced to it by a friend and so far I have been enjoying it to watch my portfolio, Coinmarketcap takes time before updating coins but coinlib updates as soon as a coin is trading in an exchange

First of all, there are few alternative the cap of coinmarkets. I prefer to use the website: https://coinmarketcap.com which is better than the other coinmarketcaps. Besides, it has show the all information which I need. Coinranker is also a good and helpful coinmarketcap website.

I just found cryptomarketplot.com (http://cryptomarketplot.com/) and I really like the simplicity of it.

Try coinpaprika.com (http://coinpaprika.com), it's from Poland made by really smart guys. They have free API, which we use in our startup.

As you can see in this thread there are so many alternatives, but most used is still coinmarketcap, it is because it is the oldest one and it is also user friendly solution for comparing cryptocurrencies ;).

A lot of great website out there but nothing can compare to Coinmarketcap.
If been using Coinmarketcap for years now and its hard to use a new ranking website :).

Lets hope Coinmarketcap will improve so I dont have to switch!

I tried typing "Mic" coins which are listed on idax. I did not find it and it looks like an error.

Here is one of the source I would like to insert for you https://exchange.all-stocks.net. Lots of option available in one place. Compare the price, buy/sell bitcoin, ripple, ethereum, litecoin, eos, usd coin. Besides you will get price charts, crypto news, top gainers and losers and many more from one source.

https://coin.market/ is much more reliable alternative - it provides more meaningful trades data (not ticker data, like CMC and most of the competitors), so you can calculate how much volume was in each time frame an you can also check how many trades were in a selected pair in a selected price range on all exchanges or on each exchange they follow. So, for example, if you want to see xrp/eth on binance it allows to do that. CMC aggregates xrp/eth xrp/btc xrp/usd into XRP, and doesn't allow you to see it individually.

Sometimes I got weird with coinmarketcap, the volume of the cryptocurrencies are different with the volume on some exchanges especially I use binance exchange to trade. Which is mean I'll take an exchange to see the price movement and it looks like very suitable for anyone who choose as a trader. For me, being a trader is really hard especially when decided to start entry point because who must know first the condition of the price itself. Expect, we see the price movement to know what the coin who meet increasing and decreasing then the site like coinmarketcap will be help.

It is difficult to get people to switch over from what they are used to.  Even though coinmarketcap has been posting fake volume for a long time and running scam ads on their page.  I hope some of these alternatives become more used in the future.

This is true story and its hard to believe that CMC would be easily be replaced by something new.People got used to visit out CMC and as said even they have been tagged up with some issues of manipulation and other problems but still this site is still being preferred by the masses.For now I don't even see some alternatives because when I do browser and trying to look at on current marketcap I do easily visit out CMC.

If you do look up the price on what you initially see then its the average overall into those exchange who do list out that coin.
You can check out their current exchange price if you do press up that Markets tab and those were real time prices.

Although some issues about coinmarketcap manipulation. until now I still think coinmarketcap is still the No. 1 service for me.

OP, to tell you the truth, it's going to be very hard for investors to trust any other site more than the pioneer coinmarketcap.com even when glaring evidence of its inefficiency is there. I like coingecko. But how many people know or use it compared to the number at coinmarketcap? It's just the same thing with Bitcoin. Despite it's lag and backlog and lackluster, traders still hold it tight like it's oxygen. Of course, there are altcoins whose speed of transaction is light speed when compared to Bitcoin. Yet, we still treasure Bitcoin.

This day coinmarketcap is overrated (to say the least) I don't know why it even insists on a project being on two exchanges before getting it listed.

you cant compare bitcoin to cmc because bitcoin is a currency and cmc is only a website  .

 sure btc do also have some flaws but its the most trusted coin and the first crypto that is invented while there are other better alternatives to cmc and cmc is not the first website that can provide information when it comes to cryptos 

. cmc is now on a hot issue lately because alot of users complain about thier inaccuracy and manipulations  . cmc can really be easily replaced by a new and honest website that can offer the same service 

There are many websites which provide live price of crypto currencies but none of them is as popular as coinmarketcap. Everyone trust and want to list their coins on coinmarketcap as that is the best and famous site among all. I do not think any site can beat them, not even coinranker.net

CMC is working assiduously to correct the figures produced by fake volume exchange, although I thought it should have been implement a long time after they announced the plan to review it. Coingecko, a similar website is dong the same with the misinformation because of the fake volume on exchanges. I also think we might need to look more into daily traded volume than market cap, traders and investors might consider review on active market coin than the marketcap

It's a nice website and somehow it reminds me of an exchange named Mercatox because of the green color. I just found the website lacking many features like I need which is conversion and links from the altcoin projects. Maybe improve it a bit more because it looks very simple so that it will get more visitors or at least make a huge promotion like giveaways or raffles to people who will register to the site.

These websites coinmarketcap or coingecko has to fetch the data from the exchanges and if any exchange has fake volume, then they will still extract that data and present it on their site. If they want to eliminate this fake volume in their data, they need to exclude these fake volume exchanges and only then the data will be perfect.

Why though, instead of thinking of the courage you need how about take some little steps like doing some search and making experience taking the risk to be more specific, in that case you will have the confidence if youre gonna buy, if thats what you were talking about?

everyone has a different rating, I also still use coinmarketcap.

Coinranker seems better than coinmarketcap, the most important thing is the price constantly refreshed automatically according to the market.
I was quite fed up with coinmarketcap, just occasionally visit it I want to check certain coins history.

Thanks. I've used CryptoCompare a couple of times. I even sign up for their newsletter. I'm not sure they're up to Coinmarketcap.com 's standard. No one would be taking that post anytime soon from them. They've the first mover advantage and It's basically one of the first few crypto websites people get know when they just got started with Crypto. I know some sites have more features that CMC, But It's still on top of the game

It's like BTC that was here first and will never be replace by a new one.
When I started learning about crypto back in early 2016, the two favorite sites that I used to access are coinmarketcap and blockchain.info, and in fact until now I'm still using them. People got used to it and they feel comfortable using it, so I think they will still remain to be the most popular in the space.

CMC just provide simple details, it's not a tough job to maintain the site as long as you have people using it, it cannot be compared with exchanges where the competition is really tight.

When there is one source it won't look like a trusted one, and to give competence more websites existed with similar to it. Now coinranker (https://www.coinranker.net) gets added to the list. It looks very attractive like you said. But the loading is too long. This might be a problem too because the web requires a much bigger and faster internet connection. When I try to open a coinmarket, the process is short.Maybe once in a while I will visit the site you are sharing right. But not for routine because of the connection factor.

The first one in the list, the error site (when i tred to visit it), is probably similar to CoinMarketCap but they have no intention to beat CMC as mentioned on article :

Thanks to such a question here. From first of my Cryptocurrency trading i use CMC to know market condition. I think all markets are overally same because if we want to know btc or eth price, that's the summery of all trading market. So what CMC gives to us all will give same (may be simply different)

I also like this website because it provide each & every information about market cap & also upgrade each new token when it came into market & biggest fact is that it also create ranking among different tokens.

^ Speaking of trust in CMC I think I only give a 75% rate on my trust score. Because I saw on their ads they promoting even have scam accusations or well know scam exchange sites. But in the mobile app, I prefer to use blockfolio rather than CMC to view and easy to monitor my trading activity.

Been using up Blockfolio for 3 years already when checking out my ports when it comes to price specially when im in mobile phone.

You can't beat coinmarketcap, cause there's nothing to beat here. Coinmarketcap and all other similar sites should use just for basic info about some project, and even that basic info should be rechecked at some point. Bottom line is don't trust informational sites with everything you have, they can fake volumes, ranks, they can do what ever they want, and in the past they done it, many people believe in those informations with their money and they lost that money in the end.

The only problem with CMC is sometimes they are feeding the wrong data from their users and allows small exchanger provide some fake data's. That's why I'm little bit confuse but actually I still keep using that site since CMC is so easy to use. And I don't really think that there are copycat site that will surpass their fame since for sure crypto users prefer CMC since as you said it is well established site where it is the first site came out to the mind of the people if they are thinking about checking the prices and data's.

Maybe  he want to only beat the coinmarketcap visitors on that website since the website for only monitoring price of crypto and we all know we have many of them on the list and coinmarketcap is the top of thelist for monitoring crypto prices.

Because it's in the top of the head of the people who searching for prices,markets at data since CMC is easy to use but their only flaws if they are receiving a fake data's that's why I annoyed sometimes upon using that site but eventually I just keep coming back since I love their classic design.

Prices at coinmarketcap are not exact but average of large crypto exchanges. CMC has simple interface and in just one or two scrolls you get to know how crypto market is behaving. Don’t rely on CMC price list, check prices at exchange if you want exact picture of any crypto coin.

In cases with those manipulative feed then as a trader or investor then you should know how to verify things up and act accordingly with your own analysis.Coinmarketcap do have some numbers of issues back in the past but we know that everything would be flashed out when it comes to averages yet this is how this site works.

It isnt because its the overall average from all exchangers on where its being traded so those numbers arent precise but it isnt really a big issue yet theres no soo much gap or difference when it comes to price.

Agreed. CMC is a great site for summary, but rather deal with my own exchange than the headache of jumping around every one listed at CMC.

There are a lots of crypto project listing there and be better than coinmarketcap but the main reason why CMC is on top list of crypto projects because everyone see CMC is most fast and have a great view on every project they listed. so every investors will always choose cmc to find a better projects. so now no one can beat cmc for having great projects.

There are lot of website out there they gives statistics about trading cryptocurrencies out there which is similar to coinmarketcap but so far I haven't seen any of it that comes close to coinmarketcap. This is just like saying someone is trying to create a crypto coin that will be valuable than bitcoin which is not possible. Coinmarketcap is the bedrock which most active crypto users uses with huge reputation when it comes to getting real time data.

I would disagree. I think Coinpaprika is having much more information, and it has curated content.
It's much more in-depth, then CMC. Dunno, if anything beats it at level of details + number of coins described.

Sometimes I already think that Coinmarketcap is so manipulated

I usually get my price updates from Crypto youtubers cause i need their financial advise. Coinmarketcap is one of my go to places for price reference it has more extended tools and you can see the biggest winners and losers if the price pumps or dumps.
It has also has a nice additional metadata of the tokens and BTC dominance.

Looks good but I have been using Coinmarketcap and Coingecko ever since I started my journey in Cryptocurrency, I don't think Coinmarketcap can just go because of a similar site, they are the one that started this thing, we can just offer a comparison on their prices but I do like the interface, it's clean.

Everything has a beginning and an ending... As more people realize that coinmarketcap give inaccurate data, they will definitely ditch it use alternatives. In fact i don't think coinmarketcap is as popular as it used to be in 2017.

Actually they are not that popular indeed.
Basic research gives us an answer - type in google something like "btc usd" or other popular trading pair and you won't meet CMC even in top 3 sites most of the times.
It is on the first page still ,but thats a matter of time I believe

It's hard to beat a stable and a site that is not an investment site and has been running for a long time, many people are very much accustom and familiar with Coinmarketcap and all the other new sites are just imitating Coinmarketcap but it's better to have more like this platform for better comparison, there are coins that are listed in Coinmarketcap but already lited in Coingecko.

It's a challenge to the same platform is CMC is not bitcoin in the market, it will always stay at the number 1, CMC might only be outdated and will be replace by its competitors in ranking if they themselves will leave the site and that is not gonna happen as they are making money with it.

There is a thread here that says Binance wants to buy Coinmarketcap for $400 million, it' a jackpot deal for Coinmarketcap it';s not really that expensive to set up a site like Coinmarketcap and all they have to do is to allocate funds for marketing and they can even beat Coinmarketcap and all the other with their marketing.

it IS expensive to reach coinmarketcap status. and they are currently earning a lot of money from their popularity from the advertisements they post on their website to all the ICO scams they endorsed and all the control they have on which coins be on their arbitrary list of coins.
i am skeptical about the number you reported here but it makes sense that Binance is trying to increase their influence on the altcoin market more. they have been centralizing things for a long time now.

you forgot to add million, yes.. that is 400 million usd, that's too expensive due to the traffic CMC has generated, they are like the facebook in social media, so Binance would certainly not gonna spend that much if they are not sure it will benefit them.


No platform is perfect, under Binance management, maybe they can improve it, but the fact that they are visited by millions of people, that says a lot of people trust their information.

We can never tell, Binance is already big but they didn't stop, they try to improve their project and they don't only limit to their exchange, and that is good especially for the investors.

That's how popular CMC is to be valued at $400 million but these guys when starting up is not even sure if their site will be popular like now, like investors who invested in bitcoin who are not sure if they can be profitable in the long run.

That's their goal and they have just waited this very opportunity because Binance has been dominating the market already and they are so profitable.

i totally agree, mostly it's just a habit for people, they got used to Coinmarketcap just like i was, but after trying coingecko a couple of times i noticed that it's faster for me and i like their interface more, i recommend coinmarketcap users to try coingecko and the Op if he still reading this, i doubt new competitors could be better.
