Title: Only download from the official websites. criminals are on the loose
Post by: Grandcoin on October 13, 2013, 06:44:58 AM
As we seen today, and with other coins previous, theres scammers posing as coin developers, to get unsuspecting users to download viruses, wallet stealers, and backdoors thinking its a coin update.

todays scum was somone "8hobits" had a link to a new version of Grandcoin. The post had 96 views before i noticed and raised the scam alert, so probably quite a few people downloaded it.

This however was NOT the official software.

only download from http://grandcoin.org

If you did download it, report here what it has done to your system

It's happened with CGB before - someone launched "CGB 2.0" and many people downloaded it before it was removed. What made it slightly more convincing, IIRC, is that someone with the name of "CryptogenicBullion" posted it.
