Title: Bctalk posts count not correct?
Post by: suzanne5223 on March 10, 2018, 11:45:30 PM
Log into my bctalk account today and I found out that my current post was 682 instead of 707 excluding my today post i.e 25posts out of my post gone missing. The question is, does anyone else experience this? Is btalk post count bot not active?

Usually its because your post or the thread that you post or replies got deleted. Thats why your post is gone or not counted.

Possible threads that you follow are deleted by moderators, or you shitpost in some time so your post is considered spam.
you are lucky you are not baned, it is terrible.

It has been a frequent occurrence and experienced by Bitcointalk participants, I have also experienced such incidents, and that's usually the topic of posting deleted by moderators, that's not too much of a problem for me.

I did a recount of post counts earlier today. There are several bugs which cause the post count to drift from its real value over time. The current count is the accurate one.

so many amount of posts you lost, reaching 25 posts? in one day lost so much? have you seen why it can be lost that much?

I lost the number of posts only 1 or 2, never that much. There may be a specific reason or error, you should check back may be normal again, hopefully nothing happens and count your post back to a realistic number.

Only those deleted threads which he posted a reply, not his own posts.
When someone's post was deleted, he will receive a notification.

@suzanne5223 This depends on where you usually reply, if most of your posts are in Bitcoin Discussion, Altcoin Discussion, Speculation and their respective child boards, the chance for the thread you replied is a spam thread is high.
Thus, when moderators do their cleaning routine, those will be deleted = missing post count.

P.S. I just lost two too.

Ok then. I guess I will have to inform Mr Yahoo about the situation. Thanks for you Mr theymos and y'all for your time I really appreciate.

They were constantly deleting my posts, but most of my posts were deleted, and when I checked them today, exactly 30 posts were deleted. This is really annoying. I've always been trying to write quality posts.

It happens to almost all accounts, actually it's because you've made a post in a mega thread. I often experience it, I accept it all because in my opinion it is appropriate. This is for the good thread and the quality of the forum, we all know that thousands of posts made every day and if there is no reduction then it will be very big influence on the forum.

I already experienced that kind of situation before, I also thought at the first place that it happened because of a certain error in forum's system but I realized lately that I was wrong. The reason behind that is when moderators clean the forum by deleting some threads and unluckily, you made a post on such threads that's why the number of your posts are getting deductions.

I know that it's irritating to see decreasing post count especially when you are in the middle of a signarure campaign where you need to meet a weekly quota but you can't do anything about it. Just accept it and continue making good quality posts.

You might be right but that's not the actual cause of my post miss count because I checked all my sent post and they intact. :)

Well, I don't find annoying but I was shocked when I first saw the post was reduced, I logged out and logon back it was still the same that's I created this thread to find out I'm the only one. However, forum moderator already said what the problem is

It is really annoying, my post count also went down for almost 150+ post counts. Hopefully that our campaign will still consider our posts when the last round starts. I am still posting and trying to reach my last post count even if I've lost a lot of posts.

I see it works very well. Possibly with the big community, it is really hard for the administrator to propose for the removal of some posts.

if the post is reduced seems to have become a natural thing, because the post has been deleted by the administrator for violating post terms and rules. we must be smarter in choosing the topic that we will comment. do not comment on post spam.

I also experienced this weird behaviour today.

I started the day with 197 posts, posted 3 times but now I have 196 posts  ???

Are the posts still being recounted?

No. My post count is consistent since yesterday. It's probably because some threads that you have posted were being trashed. Unlike an individual post removal, you won't get a notification if the whole thread got thrashed.

The forum system is working perfectly and just fine, the system count every post and activity accurately, losing some post because it was deleted won't affect the counting of your activity as other says... but losing 25 post in a day is impossible, maybe there is some technicality problem or perhaps you miss count?

It's probably true that your post has been deleted by a moderator because it does not match the topic and is considered spam that is not important

This thread should have been locked up right away after this reply:

I don't really understand the reason for the discussion to keep going on while the question asked in OP has been answered already.
@suzanne5223, kindly lock the thread now to prevent any more replies that are not needed at all.

In addition to the lock button, i would suggest using the delete button to erase some spammy answers by retards. The admin answered and they keep speculating!
