Title: another newbie post
Post by: phaskie on October 13, 2013, 07:10:56 PM
Excited.  That's the one word that sums up how I'm feeling.  I'm just posting this to bump up my post count, but, wow, so excited.

I've known about bitcoins for a couple of years, but never really looked at them until a couple of weeks ago.  No point regretting I didn't come in earlier, just happy I came in now.

Been involved in various internet communities since around '97, and this is the first one to really 'wow' me.  Been watching for a couple of weeks, spreading my small bitcoin fortunes around so I don't get stung too hard when something goes wrong (which I expect it too).

It's a real learning experience though, and I'm loving that.  Learning a lot about finance, internet security, SEO and various other subjects.  Even if the BTC price tanks, I'm still in profit from what I've learnt.

It's all win/win for me atm!

Hello and welcome to the community. :P

Thanks

You can also spread your fortune to forum members as donations  :P

I've been bitten by the greed bug recently.  Would have to be a very impressive post to part me from my money.  Challenge submitted!

Hmm
Well I donate to friendly and helpful members more often. I'm sure you like everyone else will need help with something in time.  :)

I hope I don't (ask for money).  Appreciate the sentiment though

Welcome phaskie!  The learning experience is not to be underestimated.  Bitcoin opened up a whole new world to me about programming and cryptography.  By it's nature BTC attracts fairly sophisticated computer users and it's been pretty easy to learn a lot by lurking and reading.  I hope you continue to enjoy it.

I was already into programming a lot, but not the cryptography.  Made some attempts to learn it, but didn't see the value.  I do now!
