The Los Angeles Bitcoin Meetup is great but I'd like to get a regular monthly get-together going here in the Hollywood area. Anyone else on this side of town interested?

I enjoy these group meetings generally more than listening to someone present information that I've already seen at a conference (or could download the video for and watch).

Yup I agree, I'd rather just talk to folks and see what they are working on with Bitcoin and learn new things that way.  My goal if there is enough interest is to make this a regular first monday of the month get together.

It will be great to see you.  I may show up late for some coffee, will be arriving at LAX on the evening of the 2nd fresh from the London Bitcoin Expo so probably not arriving until 8ish.

I'M STARTING A NEW BIZ TO OFFER MAJOR DIGITAL CURRENCY GOODS AND SERVICES. AS A NEWBIE, I JUST MISSED THE LAS VEGAS EXPO SINCE I ONLY HEARD ABOUT IT 2 DAYS AGO.

ARE THESE MEETINGS A GREAT PLACE TO BE TO FIND DEVELOPERS, INVESTORS AND SUCH?

I can't make this meeting as I don't live in the area but get into your area every so often. But if I find major players to create a team then I'd be in town in an LA minute.

Great news! the cafe where we've been having our Hollywood Bitcoin Meetup now accepts Bitcoin! All I had to do is ask the manager if she was interested in accepting Bitcoin and she said yes and got her Coinbase account set up.  Initially we had some problems with the cafe's Android phone which was too old to run the Coinbase POS app.  But once they upgraded to a newer tablet everything worked great.

Their first Bitcoin sales were at our Meetup this past Monday.
