I have some of the highest electricity costs on the planet yet my Jalapenos will be online even when difficulty reaches 1 billion with the current price.

It's becoming a waste of electricity to run mine. Just about ROId....worth it if BTC triples in price mb, anyone here about to retire?

Not sure if your electricity comes hand delivered in gold plated batteries or you are just really bad at math.

I'm using miners to heat our house. This year, even at -5C I didn't need to turn on any additional heating.

If you are USA based sell it to me.  You paid 149 plus shipping.  So if I send you 1.2 btc that is  a good deal for you. 1.2 btc = 170 usd  you would make a profit.  Send a pm to me.

I concur.

Eleccy costs are about 70 quid a month. Probably takes longer than a month to mine a whole btc, so yes still turning a profit. My motivation now is more to do with just liking bitcoin and wanting to increase the overall network power.

Open up the street lamp outside ur house. The jally should fit nicely in the cable space at the bottom, and it should also be within wifi distance of ur house ;)

Just be careful not to get electrocuted or caught  ;D

Everyone in the right mind would turn off or switch to alt coin mining by today. Difficulty rising fast.

Just received my tracking number today. I get charged $.08/KWH here. I would have to be charged $3.54/KWH to make it unprofitable at TODAY'S value and difficulty. <muted>hooray</muted>

since you only want to ship within UK, that limits buyers a lot

but I guess it also means shipping time shouldn't be more than 3 days or so ?  i have no clue how fast stuff moves there

£40 seems about right with an expected 3 working day shipping time..  perhaps £5 more or so

well, for someone that doesn't want to throw money away anyway.  but there are plenty here that like to throw money away,

I got my Jalapeno and I know it will never ROI but I don't care. I got it setup with a Raspberry PI and I can monitor it thru Tightvnc. Great little machine. Hashing away at 7.8 Ghz. No problems with it at all. Temp is at 58C. Not bad. ROI is for fools who care about fiat. I like tech and couldn't care less about ROI.

Got my jally yesterday. I'm stoked to fuck! Pre-ordered March 18th 2013 so got it for $149 + the $100 2Gh/s upgrade + regular shipping (express shipping is a con and not needed even for me in Oz!) and thought I'd never see it. It took 6 days to get here after it was shipped and I got the tracking info. It sat at a "fulfilled" state for about a week prior to it being shipped and getting tracking info. ROI or not, I'm never turning this bastard off. I pay $0.27 KWh and I also have 2x 7970's mining LTC non stop for the past 8+ months. If anything I should be crying over electricity costs.... Here's a screeny, quite pleased I'm pushing 9Gh/s and occasionally it does hit over 9Gh/s which makes me think should I even bother reflashing it? Seems much of a muchness to me...

To put things into perspective a little clearer... My 7970's pull just as much if not more power than the combined total of all my household appliances and we regularly have PC's on 24/7 streaming to TV's/Media Centers around the house. My power costs increased 2 fold when running these cards so the jally is by far the clear winner in this scenario. Crypto currencies are akin to slot machines gambling... You win some, you lose some. Point being you can't always win and those with that mindset play too many PC/Console games and have lost touch with reality.

LTC mining at those power rates is a waste of money. If you just bought coins instead of paying to mine them you would have a lot more. Just making it harder for other miners for no reason.

True, but it's just a hobby for me so i don't mind the power costs. tho i've been tossing up while waiting for the jally whether or not to turn off the gpus and put them to some useful gaming use. now that i have the jally it's more a case of what day i'll be motivated enough to take the rig offline and pull it apart. :)

I do occasionally buy and sell coins i made a nice profit in the recent btc spike, like wise with ltc.
