Title: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT RE-BRANDING
Post by: boyz97 on March 12, 2018, 07:34:52 PM
Hello, I just need to make some discussion about re-branding  ;)

- What do you think about re-branding?
Example : Today i got email about bitcoin.co.id changed to indodax

- Re-branding it's good?

- If you think it's not good tell me why?

Thank you :)

It seems that normally it's fairly pointless as a task. I do not think that a new brand is greatly going to change the fortunes of a coin within the crypto space. If the fundamentals are solid then it should be a success, if they're not then they should focus their attention on that instead of on changing the name and logo.

A lot of companies re-brand in one moment of their development or another.
Startups often re-brand because they haven't started with the most accurate brand in the beginning. So it is something completely normal.

It can relatively be seen good by people but it can as easily become a red flag. Example by how investors in stocks see a rebranding of a product: either the sales/business model are a bust or there was a scandal and the company is holding by the threads trying to salvage what is left. It can also be seen as a good thing if the company has a long lasting reputation and just wants to "spoli" themself/their product witha rebranding on an anniversary or other big (and ofc good) event.
