Title: International Bitcoin's Day
Post by: stuffokator on March 12, 2018, 09:58:26 PM
Hi,

I was wondering is there a designated date when people around the world celebrate Bitcoin invention or creation of cryptocurrencies in general? I mean commonly accepted tradition, something like International Programmers' Day (https://www.timeanddate.com/holidays/world/international-programmers-day):

Quote
Programmers are greeted with positive comments like “Happy Programmer’s Day” in some work environments on International Programmers' Day. The observance is also mentioned among programming communities in online forums and social media, including on Facebook or Twitter.

I think it would be fun to have such a day for the crypto community  ;)

there is Bitcoin Pizza Day which is celebrated on May 22. as you now Laszlo Hanyecz bought two pizzas for 10 000 BTC and this fact made bitcoin famous. I think this purchase made very much for promoting bitcoin.

I like and support this proposal. Bitcoin a digital online currency have no observing day. Bitcoin international observing day should be proposed. One say people take a better step to observe it as internationally.

In my opinion this is hard to do, because Bitcoin is not popular worldwide, some countries accept Bitcoin, but others do not accept Bitcoin. Bitcoin does not depend on any country. But if there is a big country that makes a day for Bitcoin, I think, they will spread around the world and gradually be known.

Neither when I thought about such a day, but I think buying pizza played its huge role and how much growth after that went on the schedule, and a lot of seias still coins past bitcoin, so you need to call it another Day Altcoin Day!)))

No we don't have any such day to remember the greatest financial invention of this decade because we live everyday with bitcoin. May 22, is the only day that is celebrated as bitcoin pizza day. If you are willing to know the story behind it, try googling it.

But I have a great idea to celebrate a day dedicated to bitcoin. While most of such "days" are constant in nature, lets have dynamic days for bitcoin that will change every year. The idea is to pick a date in last year, when the bitcoin price reached the top position.

For example, bitcoin price reached its peak value on 17th December last year. So the bitcoin day will be celebrated on the same day in 2018 to remember the best performing day for bitcoin. For 2019, we will pick up the date from 2018. How is the idea?

It seems that until now has never been celebrated international bitcoin day, and if at any time there is an international bitcoin day I am very happy, and it needs to be held.

Why we even celebrate it on such a day? Instead celebrate it everyday? celebration that it is going up and is falling down. We are trusting bitcoin technology through thick and thin. :)

This is good idea to all bitcoin lover, how about the other crypto's it's better to include them in that day. Maybe it is best to make a title that include all digital currency, like "Digital Currency Day" "Blockchain Day" or
Crypto's Day and other suggestion out there.

It's great to have International Bitcoin Day in support of new technology and history as to how and when Bitcoin started. At this time, it's hard to have this celebration because there are more people in the world than bitcoin but it's time to be accepted by government and people.

For now it may still not be possible, because not all countries legalize bitcoin, so it is not possible to be given a birth warning of bitcoin worldwide, if only for disebuah communication may be realized. It is expected that in the future there will be a birthday warning bitcoin around the world, if bitcoin has been legalized in all countries.

indeed the bitcon is worldwide but to be understood that not all countries can and legalize bitcoin, as in my own country, the authority associated with banking does not admit but does not prohibit to trade. so there are still many countries that can not receive fully. presumably to delay some more time.

That is very hard to do since bitcoin is decentralized. Organized groups who have a center agencies can make such programs and activities. In order for bitcoin to have such approved program and activities there must be an organization enlisted so they can propose a bitcoin day. There are legalities to be considered and I guess it is hard to do that except if we will make a consensus.

Well, it will be good to have one, and the best day will be when the first Bitcoin transaction was made, it will be good for the whole community and we should also choose a location that is very much associated to Bitcoin.

Why do we need to find a special day to celebrate? Every day is our celebration day. Every day, Bitcoin will bring us different things. Of course, Bitcoin has not yet been formally recognized by many countries in the world and these festivals will not be allowed.

That only possible if applied in country which not ban bitcoin, the government issue the policy about all special day. Bitcoin need more countries acceptance. Bitcoin's day will become a symbol of economy democracy. That is really good idea we should support this idea, it will be good for bitcoin.

I think also so. It would be nice to have a day of the programmer or the day the birth of cryptocurrency for the community. But, do we really need it? Can we get together every day though just sharing about the development of prices, new projects or the possibility of the creation of the new crypto without having to commemorate the day of the programmer or the birth of cryptocurrency

that is a cool idea but I think it may be too soon to get something like that. bitcoin is still pretty young and very small. and on top of that it has a lot of enemies these days that are attacking bitcoin constantly and spreading lots of FUD about it. you can't really get an international day for bitcoin as long as things are like this. bitcoin needs to at least grow more before getting a "day".

besides, unlike the "programmers' day" OP mentions, bitcoin has a "birth day" or starting day which you can consider bitcoin day. the day it started or the day of first block is a good one in my opinion.

I think that’s a very good and nice idea. I really think that with events like this and if comes to fruition then you can think that there would be a positive comment or feedback that people can view bitcoin to. That is one of our ways so that we can promote the bitcoin and the cryptocurrency with such flair, we the bitcoin community needs to work together so that the other people can see that we are proud of what we are doing so they can knwo there is nothing illegal or wrong with this

But ,if one day, bitcoin made an important impact on the world that revolutionized it and helped it evolve. I am sure that people will reserve a whole day for it. But, for now, we need to help it get more reputation ,and help this community getting bigger.

In bitcoin's day, maybe there could be some fun games using bitcoin as a payment and different group chats from different people around the world to know other people and to have friends with them, in this way, we can promote bitcoin to other people too! Bitcoin can gain more fame and power once INTERNATIONAL BITCOIN DAY becomes true.

The idea could be better if the community creates a Crypto Day - could be a discount policy as Black Friday + Several famous people promote some events like 50 cent did several weeks ago. Could be big, but it is decentralized and the money for such organization should come from us. It will definetly increase the BTC and ALT`s value.

Yeah, I was also thinking about that. Bitcoin needs to draw more media attention. I mean, in positive way. This day should be special for community. Like you said, it could be discounts, free coins for poor men, maybe some gifts for children. Or maybe even increased rewards for miners...dreams dreams  :D

I understand that all this is difficult to establish globally. But it's always better to start somewhere right? As a first step we could create some kind of a poll right on this forum to choose an appropriate date.

Imagine in the future they will refer to this very discussion thread where "such a great celebration was pioneered".

Media attention is necessary in some point but main media companies prefer to ignore the reality and keep spreading FUD. Miners can handle ths bear market but why should they participate in such events? IMO they should keep their business instead of wasting their time for such events. Idea is good but there isnt good mechanism for keeping it alive.

I think the day when first ever block was mined should be considered as international bitcoin's day. Which is 3rd January 2009 but like many have argued the day when the first known transaction to buy something was occurred should be considered as bitcoin's day as it is one of the most popular event in bitcoin history followed by massive 10x price growth.

I just thought it would be useful to dedicate such a special day. So that newspapers could write a lot about "all good things that happened during Bitcoin Day celebration". As was already proposed, online stores, which accept bitcoin, could promote discounts during this day or something like that.

So at the end of the day more people will associate the word Bitcoin with something nice, not with criminals.

If it is realized then Bitcoin will become better known and will also become more influential in life. I support and will continue to work. International Bitcoin day and Google is celebrating it by replacing it two Os with the coins.  It may be the day when Bitcoin reaches the highest value of the decade. And it will reaches to the highest place as it is going popular day by day and the investments are also increasing within seconds so it will be the only future currency very soon.

There are some celbration about bitcoin but not the bitcoin itslelf, having a bitcoin celebration is good idea to get more people to get involve to bitcoin. But why we should celbrste in public? Giving a good opportunity to the thefts maybe we should wear mask like annonymous.

Today's bitcoin international bitcoin is where Satoshi Nakamoto who claimed to be the creator of Btc (bitcoin) sent a number of Btc to his colleague. This "transfer" is accompanied by "The Times 03 / Jan / 2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks".

Each and everyone of us have own opinion. On my end,  I rather wait than stressing myself,  seeing the trend up and down.  Just I rather be waited for years, I could think that as "Forget money"  which is very easy.  You just have to sit and relax and wait for years.

I like and support this proposal. Bitcoin a digital online currency have no observing day. Bitcoin international observing day should be proposed. One say people take a better step to observe it as internationally.

I also liked this offer because bitcoin should be a digital currency cryptmarket, it should also be international day so that all the people connected with it enjoy this day.
thank you.

there is Bitcoin Pizza Day which is celebrated on May 22. as you now Laszlo Hanyecz bought two pizzas for 10 000 BTC and this fact made bitcoin famous. I think this purchase made very much for promoting bitcoin.

10,000 BTC? If only we could see the future. I certainly would have killed to buy a handful of Bitcoin when it was well under $100. But, thank you for the informational on which day was the day the first item was bought with Bitcoin!
