Title: how many alts will eventually survive in the future?
Post by: Derek86 on March 12, 2018, 11:10:04 PM
I have watched a guy saying over 95% of alt coins will banish in near future. so here is my questions

1. do you have any speculation about what percentage of alt coins or ICOs would still exist for next 5 years?

2. If you pick just one alt coin or ICO, which will survive for sure and why?

There will many but will be worth pennies.   For a cryptocoin to work you just need 2 people.  So not that much requirements. But 99% of coins right now is overpriced. Way overpriced. there are $1 billion and more worth coins with no usability.

Coins with high community support and good real life use cases might survive for longer term as demand for which will always tend to high. But this doesn't always comes true for example bitconnect Ponzi got so much community support before getting busted.

It also depends upon roadmap of the token and Dev team behind the coin. I think hardly 20-30% of existing coin might exist for next decade.

In my speculation below than 7% of the total coins in the market will survive for next 5 years. Because the majority of coins in the market that have been created with no purpose just like there is a lot of shitcoin from airdrop.
Major altcoins should survive. But i think that those altcoins with the product just like tenx, santiment, propy and many another ico platforms that have released the product. Because the product is a key for that.

Yes, people are saying that 95% of the altcoins will vanish. But that highly unlikely to happen as many altcoins have technology and are trying to solve some real world problems are trying to connect real world applications to blockchain technology which is quite innovative. Surely many altcoins will collapse cause of no strong aim and project, but according to me atleast 20-25% of good altcoins will survive.

The one that I am sure about is none other than ripple XRP, cause everyone can agree on the fact that XRP is already being implemented and is solving real world financial problems. It wont be long when XRP will be the mainstream for payment flow in the financial world.

Lots of altcoins will not survive but we will still see a large number of altcoins in the market despite the attrition.

There will always be new ICO and some will learn to adapt to the new environment and evolve but there will be those

that find the future environment of new govt regulations too stifling and will find themselves losing market share.

Relook all your portfolio properly.

Btw dun sell all your altcoins at this moment...it will be coming back ;D

Alts coin in future survive or not its depends on Alts coin road map and team and product also side by side the product . i think if all those things are positive then it will be always live and public easily can take part to invest that coin.

Growth always changes form, and that stands true for crypto too. It is less a question of Survival of altcoins and more about their adaptation to inherent and outlying factors, gaining concrete Shape and name.

Market`s invisible hand already filtered a lot coin, will filter even more..
So much coins generate high competition, therefore more developed projects, trying to survive and progress.
The case is that, newbie investors should start analysing coins as fast as possible, not after getting rekt several times..

many of them won't survive, but those meaningful projects will surely be here. On top of that larger amount of new altcoins will arise which also be probably leading the the way

There are many alt that have been dumped hard in earlier this year, you should not need to panic and stay calm. If you always monitor the market, you must know and see what coins survive until now and I think they are old players in crypto.

Life is inevitable, and so same thing goes with crypto. I don't wanna have the final say yet because all these alts in the market have its potential, own unique way, and advantage to attract investors and more people to enjoy its company. At the same time, each of these alts is strengthening its development and growth. It's a competition after all. Let's all do our part for the welfare of this campaign.

I think 1% of the current number will eventually survive, that is the reason I don't blindly support any project, I change as the landsacpe change. I personally feel Bitcoin will survive and with some selected few coins, most of these ICO projects would be affected because they are classified as securities and will not pass the inevitable regulations that is coming to the space

All that kept bitconnect alive was the support from community and the investment returns that people were making from it. I didn’t really trusted bitconnect enough from the starting to invest in it cause I never really saw anything of much utility in that coin and what it had was nothing different that what other coins were offering. So its mandatory to do research and analysis before investing in a coin rather than just pouring in money because some people said or you are watching it grow past few months or year.

Altcoin will be survived for a long time but its price depends on the future of the company, road map and policy of management. People will like good policy through which its demand will be maintained and its value will be increased like ETH, Ripple.

Too many expert has already predicted then only a fraction of this cryptocurrency will survive, just like how little of companies survived after the dot com bubble era. But this cryptocurrency that will survive willl depends on it's utitlity value, importance, network size and constant upgrades and development. We can't say for sure, but a painful estimate of about 5 % or less.

the analysis for altcoin is now so difficult from projects that exclude good products and projects that do not work on the road map.
only about 3% will survive the next 5 years because more and more people are hearing about the ICO it is increasingly difficult for us to find information because many media that reject the existence of crypto advertisement.

I think there will be only one coin that will remain for the future. It will be regulated by the community that a certain coin will be the next digital money because if we have lot of coin the system will be a mess. The coin that will remain have the characteristic of a good community feedback and regulated by well developed team.

I think that those projects that will be able to master the development of their project will survive, because now there are a lot of declared projects that are very complex in their development, I think and I hope that there will be at least 50% of those projects that really do something.

I have watched a guy saying over 95% of alt coins will banish in near future. so here is my questions

1. do you have any speculation about what percentage of alt coins or ICOs would still exist for next 5 years?

2. If you pick just one alt coin or ICO, which will survive for sure and why?

Many tell that most altcoins will die off in 5 years. I disagree. There are plenty of coins that are still alive after 5 years. Some worth pennies, some not.
Some altcoins bring something new, or have loyal communities, or created a platform still in use; then there are coins and tokens that you can see as sort of stocks: they are used to support a business and they can change owner easily.

1. Given all I wrote until now, I will be one of the odd ones telling that even a 50% is possible. And I put only 50% because there are (too) many coins that are pure scams, those will certainly fall.
2. I will say Monero, since the need for privacy is still high and will rise in the future. But I highly advise to use your own judgement when investing and I also highly advise to diversify. If one coin may fail, if you pick 5 coins, you have a good chance at least 3 are good bet (if you do your homework before choosing the coins)

I think a large number of altcoys will simply disappear this year. Since most of them do not really have value. Remain only those who have a sought-after product.

Most of the ICO that are coming nowadays are mere shit. if we talk utility wise, the percentage of coins that can survive is pretty below 2%-3%. Coins like POWR, TRIG, VEN etc might survive. But coins which are only running on speculation with hardly any use case will most probably die in near future. It's just like the 90s dot com bubble. Projects with potential will only survive.

If you select today, then I will choose the Ethereum and think about NEO.
Ethereum remains the most popular coin. Although there are scalability issues. I hope that the project team will resolve these issues.
NEO is called the Chinese double of Ethereum, so it is also credible.

I think there will be only 10% that will still survive for the next 5 years, it is because of the development of the era and technology that continues to update every day. many projects will evolve to adjust or stop.

It would be possible when bitcoin's price surge up so fast to $50k or more, these altcoins wont have any value any more especiall those below $100 altcoins, because 1 satoshi would be too expensive so these altcoins wont have any value greater than 1satoshi,do you know how the bitcoin's are fucking up these altcoin when it moves regardless up or down.

Nobody really knows, when the bitcoin's price gone wild again most of these altcoins are going to bleed hard,im talking about another bull season it makes these altcoins worthless because these altcoins are being scaled in satoshi, that is why i wont stick with altcoins of for long terms because it could happen any time soon.

Not a lot. There is a very basic answer for this: visionary projects/tokens with great execution & marketing will survive. Without execution, it doesn't matter how visionary is the startup is or how great the idea is. And without great marketing, nobody knows about how good your startup is executed.

95% for 5% is statistics in various IT projects, and not in cryptocurrencies.
I think that in 5 years will be 10% of good prospects project
And it's hard to say about projects here, for me it's a few projects and not one. Maybe Qtum, Stratis, Neo

For me, the survival of any alt coin rest so much on the team behind it, in conjunction with the kind of support its getting from the community. More important however, is the relevance of such coin in solving peoples problems and making life more easier for man as a key proposition of why we have the evolution of Blockchain technology in the first place.

To me, as long as the community are alive and actively working, the coin will probably survive. Only few will survive in the future and many will vanish out for various reasons. If the 3 essentialsof a project will always be active, then surely the coin will survive. 3 essentials to me is the support of community, the development team behind and the project itself of the product if there is any.

There are several altcoins existing and some of them may survive for a long time however it is difficult to pin point which will remain. The survival of coin depends on the people behind it and how people in the crypto market accepts it. Some altcoins have very low value and are red most of the time so maybe those will surely vanish very soon. However I am not sure which one.

Numbers of altcoins will survive in the future is not defined by numbers but I really do predict that there will be an average of 500 of new Altcoins in the Crypto Market every year so I think in the near future there would be more than 10,000 different altcoins that are available to invest but now I know some of the altcoins will die due to low demand and project ineffectiveness.

This question has been raised once in a while, whenever you find the cryptocurrencies value goes cheaper. You please do take this query as a serious discussion buddy. In some weeks of time you will find the value started growing in all the top 10 crypto currencies.
Recently I see people concentrate on the crypto currencies which are all goes cheaper but the potential coins.

I personally believe Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash, Monero, ZEC and NEO. These coins will grow bigger in the market for sure.

I just got the info that currently Bittrex exchanges has been removed many coins that not supported anymore by the Dev.
That means its possible that a lot of ALTS will no longer survive in the future.
But its also depends on many things, such as the community support and the product it self.

it is hard to predict how many altcoins will die in the future but one thing i can say that altcoins without any clear target or purposes without any real work will surely die, only high quality altcoins can be existed in this market,  despite the fact that many ICOs nowadays are too much and low quality, so i guess in the future, there will be less ICOs but really high quality and real value.

I expect the same for the next 2 years i.e. 90% of the current altcoins including the newly launched ICOs will go away from us. But in the same time new coins could also be introduced to the market.

I have watched a guy saying over 95% of alt coins will banish in near future. so here is my questions

1. do you have any speculation about what percentage of alt coins or ICOs would still exist for next 5 years?

2. If you pick just one alt coin or ICO, which will survive for sure and why?

As for the ICOs, I will never even dare to guess which of the projects will survive. Concerning the altcoins, I suppose that DASH, Monero, NEO, Etherum, Cardano will be used in future as well. I hope BTC will make them the company.

Indeed you are right there will be less altcoins that might be able to survive especially those coins which has good working product/services which has a lot of potentials to grow, there will be less im sure of that if bitcoin's price were going to surge up,skyrocketing and leaving most of these altcoins bleeds well

95% is actually quite generous. There are more than a thousand cryptos out there, and 99% of them are either a copycat of Bitcoin or have serious design flaws that make them very inefficient compared to what we already have as payment systems.

There is no surprise it is a fact except few coins I think all altcoins will disappear in next 2 years, but in the same way, there are many new coins will come on the market. this becomes new tread to make money in short time. if you have luck your alts will give you profit or else it's a waste of your money that's it.

It is impossible to predict how many alts will survive, but I think in the situation when digital world is developing, there will be a lot of good projects, and they will became the part of our life, and I think that 95% is not correct number. It is just my opinion.

In every group not all among the group will rise and other will fall ,the number that altcoin will survive in the future cannot be predicted but the assured altcoins that will survive in the future are those altcoins that are very well manage and take care of.
