Title: Thai Finance Minister Support Cryptocurrency Sector
Post by: illusion_ishita on March 13, 2018, 08:07:23 AM
The Chairman of the Thai Fintech Association (TFA) and Thailand's Former Finance Minister, Korn Chatikavanij, has offered his support for recent proposals that Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) should be tasked with developing and enforcing cryptocurrency regulations.

So, what you think about this?

Well for some people regulation is bad but this is inevitable step if you ask me, because if we want crypto to be seen as legal from goverments some part of regulation must exist. With USA talks regarding regulation this comes as no surprise that some countries may follow.

It could be good because it adds legitimacy to Bitcoin. I mean, if you know nothing about it Bitcoin itself, but it's at least legit enough to be recognized and regulated by your Securities and Exchange Commission, wouldn't you think it's okay to get involved? Let's just hope they regulate in moderation. It's better than a ban either way.

Lol true but it looks like the guy still wields a fair amount of influence, being the chairman of the TFA and all.

Any regulations around bitcoin should be considered a good news for the long term since investment is based on a long term future project. Without any legalization there will be no future to bitcoin anywhere, there will be many more countries banning bitcoin if there is no regulation to regulate the bitcoin transactions. It will hurt the value of bitcoin in the meantime but it will have a better future onwards and its definitely better than having blurry prediction about bitcoin future without regulation.  ;D ;D

Asian countries or the eastern region of the world with the exception of China can be considered much more accepting of cryptocurreny more than the wastern cou tries. However there has really been a shift with how Germany and Canada are leading the charge and only Japan here in aasia where cryptocurrency is being heralded and spoken of in a much more open setting. What we can do is to keep on encouraging and doing pur roles in ensuring that this be continued by other countires

This is the great news we heard,in the crypto world that the thai minister support cryptocurrency sector, this means that bitcoin continue to explode its fame  and usefullness some entire part of asian country,so this means a big impact to us,because this means that if more investor in cryptocurrency  will  come  more profits we gain, because maybe that time the value of bitcoin will affected  and pump up in the blockchain market.

I feel like this is a good start. More countries should join in.
Also, I and other girls decided to have our own website where people can pay using cryptocurrency. See details below.  ;D

Correct, and I really like what the Thais is doing. They have seek feedback from all sectors, not just the their local SEC but the Ministry of Finance and the AML office so I think its a step forward legitimacy in the country.

However, the deputy PM stressed that the intent is not to ban cryptocurrency activities, such as trading and initial coin offerings, but rather to establish formal rules to protect investors.

So its much better than a ban. At least the Thai government is extending all effort not to ban crypto but just havinga regulation to protect the interest of their citizens. Let's see how it goes and most of the Asian country's are putting pressure from other nations as well to adopt crytpo's in general or be left out in this new revolution.

This could be a sign that Thailand recognises the legal status of BTC! The development of digital cryptographic currency may lead to the development of Thai economy!

BTC and digital currency need more countries to support!

Thailand could get some money out of crypto and some of them obviously know that.
It is a very positive news.We won't stay in the dark forever anyway.
