Yes, some false web pages and myetherwallet address is very similar, so if we do not pay attention to, then we are likely to expose our private key, so our tokens assets will not be able to get good protection.

as of December 2017 google play store declared that they have 3.5 million active apps ready to download on their own platform so there are tons of developers who are constantly uploads and updates application paid or free every day so it's pretty hard to review all the contents, the only thing we can do is to report those garbage and scammy applications, for the Phishing site don't know why Google is allowing those scammers to promote their websites to fool people, I think it depends on the keywords bidding and keywords quality on the google searches, by the way, thanks for the heads up OP.

Not only myetherwallet is having a fake site but also trading sites like etherdelta, binance, cobinhood and also shafeshift in which if you will not check well the spelling of the sites then you're funds will be possibly will be stolen. Fake sites and phishing sites are now rampant this days therefore we should always be vigilant to avoid become victim of these sites better if there is 2FA features in your personal wallets and exchanges accounts you should activate it to ensure that they will not be easily to compromise your personal accounts.

You need to bookmark the mew link in your browser and only visit it through that. If anyone clicks on a link through their email and gets phised, than they are responsible for the loss as it is mentioned a thousand times everywhere to never click on any link you get in emails.

I use a special browser extension that blocks suspicious sites, but I still do not feel secure while surfing in the Internet..

Fake MEW wallet. I see you are doing wrong bro. There we need to check that before we are signing in the correct mew wallet with the URL which you mentioned but I see many people just search using google search go to website.
Most of the time result will be perfect and take you right wallet at the 1st page of result on it.
There is no app for bitcoin talk and myetherwallet but still people looking to have the application and go and enter their private on the fake exchange.
