STOP AirDROP SCAM!
Lately there have been too many airdrop-scams! I propose to add to this topic all Airdrops who do not pay, as well as informing about those that paid!
And yes, I understand that Airdrop is a charity!

Indeed, I have hated the most of airdrop in recent months, most of the time they will not pay us any tokens, and some even ask us to offer certain ETH give them to pay  transfer fee!

I dont think airdrop is charity by any means. airdrop has a task assigned with it.though task can be as small as joining a telegram channel. so ultimately ICOs are increasing subscriber base by showcasing their social channel to potential investors and you have rightfully contributed in that. So its a two way relationship. Problem arises when scam ICOs falters maligning the image of genuine ones as well at the same time.

Yeah most of airdrops are scam and other tokens are shitcoins but theres no harm in joining as long as you know the limitations. Better not send any ethereum and only join those with simple tasks required so that your time will not be wasted.

you should expect that when it terms to airdrop , usually airdrop is a scam and sometimes when its not the coin they giving away has no good value , so for me instead of doing or joining in airdrop , you can join bounty and it has a high percentage for you to earn a good money.

Yes you are right! But I still remember such Airdrops as BLUE & ELTC at first they were bad coins but then they became very good!)

I do not believe that all airdrops are scams because they also know how to use beautiful airdrops not just in spite of sometimes because they also have really airdrop scams so it's just a little bit careful to join but I'm not in favor of your mistake because not all Airdrop is a scam

Maybe, you just joined in the wrong one. We knew that there are lot of airdrops right now but most of them are scam. However, we can't deny that there are also airdrops that are reliable.
You might just pick the airdrops which are failed ICO. Because eventhough there is an airdrop in an ICO, it will not be delivered if the token sale did not success. I think you must try harder till the time that you earn it.

Although I agree that there are many airdrop scams out there, not everyone is a scam and we shouldn't treat all of them as if they were all a scam!

I have participated in many airdrops and have made quite some decent money from it.

Just stop the freaking airdrops. I mea those who dont even need efforts and those who also dont even check the legitimacy of the members who will join.

I have been a victim of this kind of tragedy. Seeing my username at different airdrops then using their wallet address to get the token.
It is hard to trace every airdrop that will be opening so the manager who will do it should do his duty to clean it up.
Obviously it becomes a scam airdrop afterwards, or we could say a fake airdrop.

Really hurt when you follow all the rules and in the end tokens do not come. but I do not see the point in this list because what you can do if the company has not paid, than we will put in this case to each other. But those that are currently relevant - this is a good idea.

ICO will become a rarity soon. Many countries seek to regulate this method of attracting money. I think that it remains not long to deal with the dregs.

We can not do something about it weather an Airdrop would pay or not or if it is a scam because it is just free token that gets distributed by the ICO, if there will be an available one then that can be a luck for you but most Airdrop doesn't give their token after you sign in to their Airdrop, Most of the time it will be before the ICO had ended that they will give the tokens, And the only Airdrop that I see that we can say as a scam if the form would require to put your private key so be careful.

This is really disgusting when some people use crypto for SCAM... Crypto was invented to implement technologies easier

Scam or not scam,if too much is given by airdrop then the ICO price is worth nothing.
Airdrop must be proportional at the global capitalisation.

The only thing thing that can help yourself to save from this scam airdrop is to not get easily be blind with the offer. Better to join in any bounty campaign managing by establish bounty manager.

most of airdrop is Scam thats true but joining airdrop you not lose anything unless you invest in their project even most of airdrop is a scam there it is also airdrop that give decent amount. I already earn $1000 in just in 3 months just doing airdrop .

I think there are the whole projects which turns out scam so as compared to that one I don't think airdrops is big thing. You tell me how can we control the airdrops if the whole projects are getting scammed many times. It's all about the project itself which makes the related bounty programs and airdrops go scam. We can not pre predict which project might be doing fishy things unless and until we try them out. It's better we take the responsibility by ourselves to enrol into projects which are worth something. It's better to study things and then invest into them.

Airdrops sometimes are the reason for the ICO projects fall and later on the whole project could run away with your moeny. So it's better to be careful about it that's all we can do.

They should be and also ICO scams they are so genius. They pretend to be legit in months and propose nice to the community. They are great actors and actress it seems that we should check first their personalities and also read their whitepapers if their project really have a future. But for me its no big deal if they scam me or not I don't put out any cents for them so its their problem if their scammers or not. Just avoid using your KYC for them.

I also hate to those who are not serious with the projects and seeking only profits from investors, but no one forbids anyone to make, I just reminded not to invest. and during the airdrop was free then list only no one knew where the successful project

Finally, someone say just like me, never join airdrop wasting time and some of them have no value payment. Already leave airdrop since January 2018 and will go forever, never come back again and decides to join bounty program only. I have 50 airdrop and only 12 can exchange into crypto in low value of course. Simple task make us interesting to join but now I know join airdrop is wrong. Let's do something else and see you next time.

airdrops are really turning to shitcoins and scams mostly. That doesn't apply to all of them, some of them seemed to be also right, but % is low. If you get something for free, you can't expect much in return anyway

Nowadays, there are a lot of airdrop scams that are currently happening. A lot of airdrops needs you to give them eth which is every suspicious. Even some airdrops do not given tokens even if you signed up. Mostly are turning into shitcoins and scams. It is very discouraging to join especially now that the airdrop scam schemes are rampant.

i can say 75% scam....
therefore, i am 100% not enter the airdrop campaign.
i think bounty better than airdrop.

Thank you for starting the thread. Yes, I agree that there are many such projects where it's nothing more than just a scam. They ask us for ETH address and then either the project closes or they simple scam us after ICO is over. So, whatever the case may be, I think we just need to be careful with such projects. I hope that this thread will help us save some time and energy.

These scammers are the problem that cryptos are having that makes government to think that ICO is scam and decided to heavily to regulate it which in turn create turmoil in the market making the nose diving of the crypocurrency prices. The Airdrop scammers will always ask for donations and promise to give a certain amount   of their fake coin which they will never give.

Before Airdrop scam, the ICO scams should be stopped. Just today there is news of Dadi ICO losing the KYC details of its users. All the personal details of its users has been lost to hackers. The focus currently should be the ICO scams first.

I think you can see which one is better for you to follow from the various airdrops that have sprung up. not necessarily all you follow. of course you have to assess and learn it. and if you do not get an airdrop token, it does not mean a scam. the participants may have exceeded the specified limit.

Yes this is a real problem. There were too many and more than half frank scams. Need some kind of control would be in this forum.

Airdrops don't pay if the Softcap is not reached - so if the project isn't funded then the bounty / airdrop campaigns don't get paid. It's not necessarily a scam as a risk of joining a project that isn't going very well.

I do not think this is a good idea. It turns out that these same scammers you will additionally advertise. Black advertising is also useful for them :)

I think we should find out some way to control the number of Airdrop in this forum :). There are so many airdrops and more than a half of these airdrop are trash or scam but a lot of people still join these airdrop and hope that they'll be able to earn thousands dollar just by joining airdrop only. LOL. I don't really want to join airdrop cause I don't want my ETH address become a trashcan. LOL.

the eth address is not a big problem. You can always add a new myetherwallet. you can even take a single MEW for each airdrop. you do not need his good MEW. whoever takes his good MEW for Airdrop is very risky

 
Lately there are many scams in the forum because of this airdrop. We should be careful on choosing an airdrop and good for us to find the legit airdrop. Many airdrops daily so scam should be stop.

Very rarely I participate in airdrops, and only those that I take from this forum. Tried to participate in airdrops from Twitter, paid only in 1 of 10 cases.
Airdrops like bounties, most often, pay after the end of ICO. Therefore, it is very difficult to track them.

Good topic, since many of project are creating only for purpose gambling. We are need serious project that will bring serious investor to support your long project working. But sadly, many of them will going to scam after got money. How could this have a good effect on the progress of crypto to be more acceptable over the world.

Back in the old days on where those airdrops are still worth to join since only a few doesn't give you out some tokens but now almost 90% of them doesn't even tend to give you out even no matter how many times you register or signed forms and follow instructions giving out emails and other information but you end up on receiving nothing and in most worst case is that some people did able to make some investments.

Very cool that you touched on this topic, a lot of Airdrops turn out to be Scams and because of them an honest project can be difficult to develop their audience, because the trust to Airdrop is lost!

In recent weeks I have seen a noticeable increase in announcements of new airdrops. Last year I participated in some but it was just a waste of time, because either they did not pay, or they paid some token with no value. The bounty campaigns are much better

you are right mostly airdrops are fakes, they build the commmunity very easily and then some groups lately change the names and converted to signals.. i faced many when i was newbie...  ;D ;D ;D

The situation with airdrops is really bad. Frequently payment does not come. It is rare to find a good project.

95% of Airdrops are fraudulent projects and you need to be ready for it. I think you are not the first day in this market, with each year such projects are becoming more and more! And it's sad  :'(

We can stop airdrop scam because there so many people the needs free giveaway of tokens we can minimize it but we cant stop it. Most people are blind if tokens are for free

Well, there is always the option of not going for 'free money'. I pretty much never got for things like this and I'm still alive without those.

people will be blind about free money that is why people always fillup airdrop forms. you can blame people because it is our nature since we are limited in this resources and some might have earn because of airdrop that is why they are recommending close people on filling them.

As long as the airdrop is free, well you can just take it or leave it.
One thing to make sure is, do not use your primary address to join airdrop.

I do not have any interest to this one because I read a lot of complain to this and also I had a feeling if I join it could only be a garbage to my wallet, a coin with no value and this will gives me annoying moment.

Hello, I also receive 50 tokens (N/A) today and really don't know what it is... If someone knows, please tell.

What i observed recently is many of those airdrop would even request fro donation in the name of using the fund n assisting the projects, of which they would later disappear after getting little money away from their supporters. I think the best of the precautions to take is to s6tay away from any airdrop that request for donations. If you are buying into ICO, you would know you are buying into ICO, airdrop is absolutely free stuffs. Thanks

There are too many false airdrops in circulation, most of them pay little or nothing. Personally I am only doing airdrops of high rated companies after doing detailed analysis, it is useless to waste time for nothing

Although there are Airdrop scams not all Airdrops are scams. Some of them really do pay out but I understand the need for this post. Especially those Airdrops that send you wallet addresses to help invest in the project and promise to pay out after, those are scams. Be safe people

Definetly,mostly of the airdrop now  doing a scam but not at all.when we make it to percentage only 20%  are legit,while the remaining rest of 80% is mostly a scam and phishing.Actually we already know that this airdrops coins is benefits or gift to the bitcoiners who want to follow or patronize  there project,but  there are some fake airdrops asking all your information,and they give you a token in your wallet,but the truth those website is phishing and want to hack your  personal information.

The airdrops is really real. If within the campaign for the bounty of some ISO, there are airdrops. Here are some examples:

There are so many airdrops. It is useless work. It begin and ends very fast. It is good idea for ICO but not for airdrop. Fill the form and forget.

But what's the difference whether it's scam or not? You still do not lose anything, you do not invest your money, you do not perform any very important and valuable work for which you have to pay. You are given coins for free, which in the future can have some value. Is not it?

Well, first of all I would not feel good at all being someone who invites people to join scam project, for example, via posts on bitcointalk advertising given coin. I know people should decide on their own, but I would still feel like an idiot posting messages like 'come join the new-best-ever-completely-not-scam-coin!'. I would rather stay poor than deceiving people into believing projects I don't belive, just because I wanted to get some free coins.

I think you shouldn't waste your time participating in Airdrops, most of them are scams at the moment. Even if you get your tokens, most of them will cost like 1$ or so.

I dont agree airdrop is charity. Why charity can scam people? It does not make sense to me.

I too have experienced airdrop, which do not fulfill their obligations. I did not receive tokens, although I fulfilled all the conditions of the company correctly. Group administrators say that you should wait. But I don't believe them. It remains only to forget about all their promises and work on

The way i see it, you shouldn't tar them all with the same brush sure there is a lot of scams there and there are some that are legitimate. At the end of the day you can't expect something for nothing from everyone, for only 5 minutes of your time you are potentially getting something for free!

The coin or token promoters are not forced do present an airdrop.If, however, they decide to present an airdrop (making people to sign up, join their telegram group, etc.), then, they should keep their promise. Not keeping to their promise is an indication that the promoters have skeleton in their cupboard. I support listing those kept to their word as well as those who did not. It shows commitment and level of seriousness. Cryptocurrency is all about trust coupled with technology. It is too early and quite unfortunate for such token/coin promoters to begin the lack of trust from people just from start.

I already heard that news today that tokens airdrops are taking off because of some issues. Many people joining airdrops, they only sign up and wait for tokens and i think it is not good. There is nothing free right now, you cant earn any coin if your not doing anything.

You did understand it is a charity so where is the scam? You are not scammed. The investors are, which believed it could really open up a new path with promising services they will provide.
But you as just one who will join an airdrop, why are you hurt more?
We have our good moderators here that can trash everything they will post here about airdrops. But they cannot handle it all, so we can help them and try to report this things.

Airdrop is not a charity, airdrop is free money before but for now i think airdrop needs donation, and many airdrop is a scam now and there is no value like the selfdrop when you sent 0 ethereum then you will have token but the truth is when you do selfdrop then the gas will go to the owner of that airdrop I've just read it before here in forum I can't remember the topic of it.

What I hate the most is to receive useless Airdropped tokens which I will never be using. I hate such a promotional activity and for me is not different from spam. If I really want to take part in an airdrop I will be asking for it not the other way around

Very little profit, I read some conversation that they got 1 - 2 dollars worth of the useless tokens, they are so mad about it but the reality is that there are tons of participants who are constantly dumping the price of the said token better to be thankful that the coin hit exchanges and the devs pay them cause 85 - 95% of airdrops are total scams or abandoned.

Got a lot of coins from a bounty that cost 5 to 8 ETH based on the ICO price guess what? the project ended in January until now there's no update. That was my first bounty when I was a newbie traumatic experience.

You are right. Even maximum airdrops fake. Something look like scam. But some better project gives coin.
Actually, I think its a system for collect ETH address (ERC20).
Some phishing can be. SO, we need to silent and search the better project, then fill up airdrop form.

Yes, now there are a lot of projects that create airdrops, as far as I understand they do not want to have anything to do with the SEC, so they just create an airdrop and do not collect anything from investors, but simply give up, but in the end, when people who received tokens start to withdraw they are beginning to sell their tokens to the stock exchanges.

They need an donation so we can receive a token from them but after few days or weeks we can't receive at all because it's fake airdrop. Doing scam in airdrop so they will gain an ETH, but why other people send ETH in airdrop, airdrop is free no need to give ETH at all.

Hi guys! Thank you for bringing this up! I agree with it. Lately numerous counts of airdrops are seemingly not giving away their promused tokens so our efforts will not pay off. It seems like doing airdrops now will waste our energy and time. Most of the airdrops also requires eth contribution.

Guys, calm down. I never participate in airdrops if joining form asks to download some software before filling it. Hackers found easy way to trap hungry bounty hunters. This kind of softwares later do its job like to encrypt the whole computer or steal my private information without my permission. Always be careful and use latest updates on your os softwares.
