Title: How would a more mature ICO market look like?
Post by: peachaston4 on March 14, 2018, 10:53:09 AM
Everyone knows the trend in the crypto community these days. A lot of ICOs are popping up from everywhere.
Even I have my ICO proceeding currently.
Everyone believes that ICO is just an easy way to raise money but what many do not realise is that it is a nightmare out there to reach people. With so many scams going around and so many regulations kicking in, credibility is hard to establish.

What better ways are there to improve the existing ICO system, which allows for a safer zone for investors? Else how do you think this place would look like in a year?

I personally recommend meditation to those who take up an ICO.

I would suggest that being more regulated would help the investors but then the point of crypto not being under any central organization would be lost.

I think that people should make the product first and then run it. Only after showing a successful test case, the ICO must be held.

Finding the balance is a pretty hard I guess.

Sometimes even though the idea is there, there might not be enough investments to build the whole product. That is why the Minimum viable product exists. Check out our mvp here: https://alpha.enkidu.io
We got it out like 6 months before the promised date.

Yeah
a lot of projects have been stopped midway even after the ICO's have successfully completed. A dedicated team is a must in any field

I think that when the management rules of the more mature ICO market appear, it will be very difficult for ordinary people to continue to invest in ICO projects, and the ICO project will become the best investment channel for financial institutions.

We are treading on a very narrow space where we are trying to free ourselves from a centralized sytem but also searching for assurance to not be scammed

I get it. That is why I am looking for better alternatives in this space which will let the crypto space evolve.
Right now we are lying in a lot of uncertainty

It is good that regulations such as SEC, are now coming up as guides to ICO projects. I feel it is going to create a good and safe atmosphere for buyers who might want to come in. Legitimate ICO need not to panic, except the for the scams we have around. I think the nearest future will help us to give clarity between what should be bought or not. Enkidu is a project i have always liked from the start.

What do you mean by the word "meditation" ???
I saw the news that Russia is already creating a draft law on the regulation of ICO projects, the rules will be set for both creators and investors. Let's see what will come of it, and who else will follow their example.

SEC entering does give more comfort to investors but when they enter, a lot of rules follow them in like only accredited investors are allowed to participate. This makes ICO lose their point.

Haha. Meditation is just controlled breathing. It relaxes the mind. I meant that holding ICOs is pretty stressful.
Let's hope that the government does not butt too much into controlling it.

Generally ICO's should be similar to IPO. They should be carried out by exchanges, who could then vett the companies behind it properly. Similar all of them should have an accountant to audit it and a real prospectus, instead of whitepapers full of lies and then a disclamer in the back.

Generally most of them promise too much, just to get peoples money and as soon as they get it, their timetables and a lot of other things go out the window.

I believe healthy ICO should start with already working product. Doesn't need to be full 1.0 version, but at least some working alpha is a must to prove the project is serious

Hmm, there are many ICOs out there, and I'm also promoting some. Almost all fields in our lives have a corresponding project for it already especially from banking, remittance, travel/transportation, health, insurance, and many more. At some point, I am in doubt if do we still need more ICOs? Why not let's now move forward and start using the real purpose of those past ICOs? Well, my opinion only.

The problem with this is that those exchanges can now over evaluate the token prices which defeats the purpose

That is very true but there is no stopping them. This is because for example if one starts a blockchain application in the remittance space, there will always be more people who think that they could do it better or go for an untapped market.
