Bitcoin HODL'er: An Idea for Making Such An Extreme Online Sporting Event! POLL

With the stress, anxiety, courage (or foolishness your choice) of being a Long Term HOLD'er of BTC, I think it is time we make this part of the extreme

sports category like Skydiving, Parkour Rooftop Jumping, SCUBA, Ski Jumping, Freestyle Skying, Rockclimbing, Arguing with your Wife, etc.

Sure, we don't get outdoors much, but the amount of stress involved, UNMOVING, in front of the Computer...and the drama of BTC HODL'ing has to

be impressive in its own right!

I mean, the BTC HOLD'er...unmoving, unswayed by price dumping and FUD, steadfastly staying rooted to the computer overseeing his vast BTC

domain. Moving BTC here/there, fighting trojans and viruses trying to get into his BTC Wallet, dealing with corporations, banks, governments, Bears, and their

mighty FUD machines...armed only with his keen mind and courage...to combat these fiends...all while sipping a Red Bull and eating chips/doughnuts and snickers bars...

Watch the mighty HOLD'er...unmoving, unfazed by (er logic maybe) and unwavering with his massive extreme HODL'er skills under this immense pressure of $18k to $8k BTC drops...

*he laughs, ha, ha..bring on the FUD*

Let us see some Parkour guy handle REAL STRESS, in such a manner...rooftop jumping indeed! We will show you rooftop jumping when BTC hits $11.48 USD!

Anyway, your thoughts on this prospect of getting extreme sports viewership, like you see for video games and Xgames! God knows Red Bull Sports Drinks should sponsor this

by the amount of that stuff we all drink!

(The stress is immense he/she is reaching slowly for the Red Bull....a sip....such control!... an elegant movement of the mouse, a BUY!, the watch count goes up! The crowd roars!)

(yeah, I know, I'm stalling looking at the BTC price with this post..whatever works)

Be sure to take the poll!

We could make it in to a great TV show. 'A day in the life of a Hodler' - members of the public are invited to participate against one another in the intense battle of staring at a screen and resisting the urge to click buttons.

Getting professional now in HODL'ing I fear....I went out of amateur status when the price went below $9k ...the immense pressure to NOT click sell...Ack! the Drama! Ack!

Frigging Xgame pus*es have NO CONCEPT of real stress...zoom, zoom you are done in a few minutes....zoom down the hill, jump out of the plane, big whoop!..

...but to sit and watch and wait, as the FUD rolls over you and the price dumps more than 50%.... and not sell, but HODL..that is REAL pressure!

I just had a great novelty idea. Similar to the famed white house red button that launches all of the nukes I will create such a button that when pressed sells off all of your cryptocurrencies. It will be protected in the same way by numerous access codes and it will only add to the suspense and drama that a big glaring red button is staring back at you ready to be pressed.

Damn, Bitcoin holding is becoming more stressful than defusing a bomb or walking thru the hood or some sh*t. Thats why it is much better just to trade Bitcoin and all the other alt coins :D

I'll add my own idea. After the cryptocurrency rockets begin to take off, he learns that the prices on the market again went up. He tries to close the mine with his hands and calls Superman to catch missiles that have already taken off. This is a typical example of panic behavior.

I gave a merit because this thread is quite entertaining. Would've given more but I hate double spacing! :D
Been in the holding game for a couple years and I'm always amazed at how it can drain me every time the price goes down. I know that the coin is still worth a couple times more at its new bottom than it was a year ago, but it still hurts me to see it fall. I had days when I woke up, turned on the PC, saw the price, and all I wanted to do is go back to bed and wake up when it's over. That's what I call the beginning of a great day, when you haven't even drank your morning coffee and you're already mad at everyone and everything.

This made me think of the movie 127 hours were the guy gets his arm trapped under a rock and has to chop it off. The similarity being that you have to put yourself through so much suffering just because you hope it will lead to happiness and security in the future

Right on, I know there'll always be those who treat these kinds of threads with disdain, but when I first properly "came onto the scene", it was partially because of the old threads I used to see... early adopters were a pretty relaxed bunch of people IMO, reminiscent of the mid 1990s chatroom scenes. Even the thrash talk was somewhat... friendly.

Only a year and a half of hodling experience here (and even then, not quite the stash I'd have wished for) but I think there ought to be some kind of experimental study on this holder mentality and the entire experience. I'm certain there's a lot we take for granted.

That all said, extreme sports is all about adrenaline. And I think stock brokers sweat a hell lot more than crypto holders. I mean, unless you bought in at Dec/Jan, of course. Everyone else pre-2017 are still sitting on a lot of unrealised profits.

I'd prefer to keep hodling and getting rewarded and interviewed for it. The person who doesn't panic at the greatest drop gets the hodler's reward. A physical bitcoin would be nice. There should be a hodler's foundation where people chip in for these awards.

Many times warned everyone who was going to buy bitcoin that you do not need to do this if you do not have money, the loss of which will lead you into a panic. The same was warned that bitcoin is a long-term prospect! So why complain now? If you fulfilled these  the two above warnings, then you now have bitcoin just HODL in a reliable purse and you do not even look there.

A true bitcoin hodler doesn't feel the stress of hodling. Transferring Bitcoins from wallet to wallet - that's stressful. Hodling, not quite so much.

I think it might not be like an extreme sports but it have all chances to become something like a cyber sport. Here it could be nice to continue the idea about the tv shows. It is possible to make streams with the "daily life of a HODLer". The emotions provided by gaming streamers are making those kind of streams so popular and HODLing is also a pretty emotionsl thing that can be broadcasted. That would be a mix of streams with emotionsl context with some lifestyle stuff which  is also pretty popular.
