Post by: Rcastelo35 on March 14, 2018, 10:16:03 PM
I was interested in purchasing a Bitcoin Asic Miner. I came across this company but it seems shady. Has any seen any real reviews and proof of tech on this Miner? Any help would be great

I don't know the techinical stuffs about mining so I can't really give any significant information but this is a new product so unless you want to be a "tester" you better wait until an actual review comes.

I couldn't find any review but there's a guy on youtube who got contacted by the company.

even though I think these Chinese are not reliable, but I'd like you to explain why you're saying this: " Asicminer is toxic. "

I'm not going to say if they are trustworthy or not because I honestly do not know, but I will ask this question:

if you had a company, would you hide the company's physical address and telephone number and who is the owner of the company?

I think you would not hide it, because having a company means the possibility of gaining reputation, fame and prestige, but that the money is the reputation.

My suggestion: look for a company that has a telephone number and physical office, at least you will make sure there is a place for you to complain in case your order does not arrive at your house

Bizarre.

If the name "friedcat" doesn't mean anything to some of you newer members, I suggest that you check out this megathread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497) and read one of the Big Stories of Bitcoin's journey.
Also this (http://news.8btc.com/tracking-friedcat-after-his-missing-in-2015) for a coffee break read.

Re the OP, bells ring immediately with a newbie "has anybody heard of..." type one post, especially on this topic, but the website checks out as "authentic". However, the opaque way in which friedcat organized the original Asicminer and the passage of time make it impossible to know who is effectively in charge of it now.
Again bizarrely, I have the completely unjustifiable reluctance to discount that this may be "real" on some level BUT....it's pre-order, make it a big NO-NO.
Fascinating development though, in a fascinating saga, it's like Kurt Cobain releasing a new record.

Deep frustration about huge losses.
I tried to prevent new users making the same mistakes I made several years ago. See post above from tmfp.

They take PayPal but charge a 15% "fee". Translation: what we really want is those sweet irreversible bitcoins, but we'll pretend to take PayPal so you'd think we're 100% above board.

You may see many people mentioned that this site is toxic. Why you want to go with them buddy. You know most of the electronic market people knows the dealers who deals in GPU and ASIC miner machines from China and elsewhere.

If you want to buy the ASIC hardware, Bitmain site is right place book your order, if you are not believe the local people who deals with it. Keep invest your fund right place.

Please note that you shouldn't decide based on a single review.
Single review wont really be enough in most cases. Don't risk to test out to make transactions if you are the few persons who do make purchase into this unknown site. Cant really point out if they are scam but with trust matters this wont really pass out to my standard and besides why would really bother to buy into unknown sites if there are places or common spot on where most people do purchase on?

this unknown site.

Haha, unknown is the last thing the asicminer.co site is my friend, read some history (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.0). That's part of my interest. And also explains reactions like this.

Asicminer is toxic.

I think they would suit IceRockMining actually. They're so quiet they could incubate unicorns in them in their Kazakhstan cave, whilst still returning 300+% ROI.

Doesn't really look that cost effective to me to be fair (Luckily i'm not an engineer).

And indeed, any reputable company would just make a normal video explaining what their product is about instead of this bait crap & hiding your faces.

A good company, which in a short time will collect and provide all the ingredients for farm fascia. Most importantly, prices are pleasantly pleasing. Always help not only the necessary parts, but also advice. I use, I use it in practice, high-quality iron, resistant to voltage drops. With the payment and delivery of goods no problems.

I also recall looking at a vid from VoskCoin about the Asicminer 8 and seeing that the miner only hashed at 4TH/s with a possible serverside hashrate boost from ASICminer to make their BTC miner hit the advertised rate of 40TH/s. The thread about that is located here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4931395.msg44488643#msg44488643) if you'd like to take a look at it, but it is interesting that ASICminer has their miners go through a web-based dashboard, and it makes me wonder what might happen if the ASICminer dashboard site were to go down, as it doesn't seem the miner is controllable locally.

The number of people making new accounts claiming to have found a good new mining retailer and leaving positive reviews of products that might not even exist seems to be on the rise recently- if anyone reviews hardware, don’t trust the review if the account is new or has low trust.

It’s always best to purchase hardware directly or from a trusted reseller, and this won’t change anytime soon. The number of scammers in crypto will continue to rise, and their methods of scamming change over time. It’s up to you to recognize this.
