Title: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - Proof of Signature
Post by: CCNCCN on March 15, 2018, 12:19:34 AM
As the last XBY ANN Thread got locked, i thought we could use this to continue discussion on the coin, with the blessing of someone from the XBY Team on Slack (Thanks Fish!).

Will there come a technical whitepaper?

I'm hoping there will be one following the release of the patent on 7 April

locking an ann thread always looks bad

needs to be reopened

most projects that die lock their ann before they gradually vanish for good

the main ann needs to be unlocked

I completely agree with you. It's always much better to unlock main ann than open new thread, otherwise it realy looks bad.

I agree with both of you, however no one has accused the de-facto leader of XBY of being someone who listens to others counsel.  Hence, the best we can do is discuss it here. I'd like to try that before accepting that the coin is dying, although it is a fairly pointed out risk.

In terms of updates, the April monthly update came out on the Discord on the 1 year anniversary of the coin and the community has reacted badly to it (on the Discord), with no information provided on progress across the key issues for XBY (i.e. patents) and limited information provided beside it.  The big piece of news was a screenshot showing a new website, however as a result of this update being hyped up significantly as a "big update", and the functional nature of the current website (the limited value of an updated website), the update disappointed.

The key next update is the filing of the patent applications, however given the lack of update on that provided, and the lack of track record of hitting deadlines I don't expect the patents to be filed in line with original expectations (April), so the next material update in this thread is likely to be May or later.

I will link the update as soon as it is updated on the coin's website, which is currently only showing the March update as latest.

Projects that I think have little explanation, I lack information what is the purpose of your project? and where is the information about your team?

The project is very interesting and promising. I hope that many people are interested in your project

Update 01/May/2018:

The main thread remains locked - which continues to sully the legitimacy of the project
All given deadlines for patent updates/progress have been passed with no promised information.  CCR now appears to me missing or "taking a break".

I hope this can be turned around but it is looking more questionable.

May Update has been posted - https://blog.xtrabytes.global/xtrabytes/xtrabytes-news/on-the-pulse-may-edition/

There is still no sign of CCR in the Discord however from the message on the Patent update it is clear that, far from being ready in April, it is no where near being ready.

To my mind accountability for the patent work rested with the person doing it - CCR.  He has failed in this and taken 5 months to realize he is in over his head.  With this admitted competence point in the latest update the team has advised CCR, who they have admitted doesn't have the competency, will continue doing the patent work.  From all of this it appears the patents, and thus proof of actual code is very far away.

Separately they are launching a simulation of how the network will work for developers.  I question the decision to waste time developing and writing a simulation, and can only conclude main-net or a functional test-net is far way.

It's not a great update, but at least it is an update.

I think your project gives us less information. I want to ask about the purpose of this project?

I'm curious. But you have too little information. Please make a clear description in this thread about how your project works. Thanks

Hi Guys,

I think we may finally have some progress on XBY.

As we all suspected CCR was not able to progress XBY at all, to the extent that absolutely nothing got done in the last 7 months.   The new CEO has advised us of this.

Thankfully, we seem to have other people in charge, and some actual progress.  I'm FOMOing in now!

Feels like big news finally, and progress being made after CCR got the boot from COO spot.

Loving the new leadership and attempt to restore transparecy and reassure investors that this is real deal.

Fuck yes finally - hello patents goodbye blue balls. Sorry to hear about CCR's health but it's excellent news that the new guys are making it happen so quickly. Imagine it, one month from now we'll have patents and a look at the tech and be well on our way to being a legitimate contender.

Yes it gives me renewed hope for the tech!
