Title: HDMI dummy plug software?
Post by: Bigdrago on March 15, 2018, 11:46:25 AM
Hi.
Since I havent received my hdmi dummy plugs yet I was wondering if there is a software that emulates that a display is connected?
I am moving my rigs to a place without monitor (using remote software).

The mining software fucks up is there is no display connected.

Maybe the following will do the trick:

Right click on the desktop, click 'Screen Resolution'
Click 'Detect' button on the next screen (when click on Detect, a new second monitor was shown on the right of the main display)
Click 'Another display not detected' and under the multiple displays option select 'Try to connect anyway on: VGA'
    Click 'Apply'

What mining software are you using? Ive got an intel rig and it uses the onboard graphics and my amd rig uses a small 1050ti (as the ryzen7 hasnt got inbuilt graphics) never needed dummy plugs for any of the cards though.

When overdriventool starts and applying oc settings it misses one card.
The same with claymore

Change to integrated graphics on your Bios and the problem goes away

I have done that.
If I start windows without display connected the onboard graphics seems to be disabled. Strange.

Hi,

I have one of my rigs working with no monitor, just remote control, w10pro and mining with claymore, phoenixminer and nicehash, and I had no problems, all the miners worked, I'm controlling the OC with msi afterburner which applies the oc settings on the startup.

That is so strange.

I had to restart one righ (using teamviewer). After startup the only gpus active is the 13 amd radeon 570. CPU GPU is not enabled or visible.
Using teamviewer only gives me resolution of 640x480. And claymore autosetup gets messed up when the cpu gpu is missing.

In device manager
Show - show hidden devices
Intel HD graphics shows up. I open it and the message "This device is not connected to the computer (code 45)" is shown.
