Title: [POTENTIAL SCAM] [HARD FORK] [BQC] [BBQcoin.org] [CaptChadd]
Post by: arkhimed on October 18, 2013, 08:35:16 AM
Ladies and gentleman,

excuse me, but I must tell you about very disagreeable fact.

Against views of the community and development team of BBQcoin, CaptChadd again open his site BBQcoin.org with dangerous and unofficial update of BQC client.

I think, that moderators could check out the actions this user, so they could make a decision about "scamer" status for CaptChadd.

With best wishes,
Arkhimed

Silly bunny. BBQcoin.org is the official BQC site. Therefore the updates there are the official updates. BTW could you enlighten us who are you and why do you talking on behalf of the community?

arkhimed is correct. I am working with CaptChadd to fix this now. It was just a hosting update reseting the forward.

In this case I do apologize, but a "new user" with activity 2 asking a "scamer" tag for CaptChadd is a bit fishy.

Dear bigdaub,

I think you may tell to community, as CaptChadd's "update" (unknown for other developers) nearly destroyed the BQC. About CaptChadd had promised to developers to close the BBQcoin.org and make a redirect to bbqcoinfoundation.org. Really he has fulfilled the promise, that reopen it now again.

I was in contact with CaptChadd yesterday. He is working on getting the redirect back up. In the mean time has has posted this on bbqcoin.org

Redirection Problems

Hi all,
As you know I have stepped down from developing BBQcoin and it is now being run by the BQC foundation. The problem is for some reason my current host/domain supplier keeps resetting my redirections no matter how many times I update them.

So for now, I have updated the client download and source code on here to the official ones as mentioned in BigDuab’s post here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=310290.0

I wish the foundation all the success for the future and look forward to seeing BBQcoin grow into the great coin it has the potential  for.

Many thanks

CaptChadd

He has also removed the forked github code and replaced the download link on his site to the sourceforge link. I have no reason to believe that CaptChadd is trying to scam anyone. On the contrary he has handled this whole situation honestly and professionally.
