As one of the pioneering countries to embrace cryptocurrency, I am sure that this can be helping its economy and the people in general. As they can be opening up for new fintech companies to locate within its territory, this can be opening jobs for the people and can have domino effect to the whole economy most especially that they have been lately devastated by that natural calamity. This is one way of showing us that more and more countries will eventually be joining the cryptocurrency bandwagon. And they have this new code called Act 22. I guess this aim to attract new investors to flock on country and invest money. I think they will be having what they called Puerto Crypto.
Quote Puerto Rico is luring crypto entrepreneurs and investors thanks to an exemption within the Internal Revenue Code, called Act 22, that allows nonresidents of Puerto Rico to pay no taxes on their long-term capital gains. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/16/puerto-ricos-governor-is-bullish-on-blockchain-as-part-of-islands-comeback.html Here's another interesting article from NY Times. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/02/technology/cryptocurrency-puerto-rico.html So this is indeed another welcoming news for crypto's in general. When so much regulations going around, at least we have someone who understands what this so called disruptive technology can bring to the table.
