Title: When I started Mining...
Post by: Maria on July 24, 2011, 03:59:40 PM
I was able to generate a block every 20 minutes...

Code:
Status: 128364 confirmations
Date: 4/1/2009 10:39
Source: Generated
Credit: 50.00
Net amount: +50.00
Generated coins must wait 120 blocks before they can be spent. When you generated this block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, it will change to "not accepted" and not be spendable. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a block within a few seconds of yours.

I don't see how that is possible. Is your date wrong? Different network?

It's not the difficulty that doesn't make sense, it's the date that doesn't seem correct.

It must not be mainnet, but even testnet wasn't around until mid 2010 IIRC. Maybe I have my dates mixed up. Is today 2009?

The date is April fools day (or Jan 4th).

In some cases even 10 minutes.

It would have been much more believable if it had been 2010 and a LOT less confirmations. Else as is that would put genesis back into 2007 or so wouldn't it?

Maria has some serious amount of BTC/USD(if this screenshot isn't faked). So maybe he/she/them had some serious mining rig from teh beginning.

And sometimes even 3 minutes.

I guess we will know in 3 minutes, when the countdown is over.

Sorry, I don't get what the problem is with the data provided. Can someone explain?

The number of confirmations maybe? Since in the so called 'data' they're quite high. Which back then, couldnt have been achieved.

Yea, screenshot ain't faked. But those generated coins listed definitely weren't from 2009 or 2010...or 2011.

Edit: Well I guess that data set could be from today. That would make sense then. 128364 + 9437...ok, I need more coffee. I assumed dataset was from 2009. Sorry Maria. :)

The number of confirmations would be about correct if that is a present-day screenshot of some software that includes today's blockchain. I have no mining experience so don't know what is usually shown on a mining client.

Are you able to spend the addresses with Bitcoins still in it?
