Title: egifter accepting bitcoin is HUGE, why no uproar?
Post by: Anon136 on October 18, 2013, 11:22:03 PM
seriously guys, in one fell swoop the question of "what can i do with a bitcoin" became "what cant i do with a bitcoin" and all i hear are crickets. egifter has made bitcoin almost as liquid as usd and no ones talking about it.

i dont understand. is it a scam? are they just a poorly run business? i mean I'm looking at the prospect of buying my groceries with bitcoin next time i go to the store, how is this not of monumental significance?

http://www.gyft.com/ has been around for a while
(^Very notably lacks Walmart, though)

Gift cards have been one of the most widely traded items, and one of the first. There are a good few gift-card reseller sites which've been doing this for a while, though most of them are pretty sucky.

I Don't see much in the forum about the multi billion pound chinese firm accepting bitcoin or about e-gifter a walmart .
But the bitcoin markets are definitely shouting about it $177:00 per bitcoin from £110:00 in a week is serious price movement .
I posted couple of ees ago that when we broke $150 that $170 ish would come quickly but I honestly never meant this quickly .I was thinking more in terms of months ,quick not days/a week .

If anyone was thinking of trading in bitcoin ,now I would use the previous $150 ish level to buy and be selling at $170 ish ,kinda start buying in at a sell off Entering at $160 and adding below that level ,then unwinding at $170 ish .

Buy when price is going down ,sell when it is going up.
Unfortunately human nature is to do the exact opposite .

Warren Buffet said something to this effect and I have never forgot it .

I don't think of it as a bubble really .
In all forex markets we see the same type of movements when news is released .
We always get A to B leg up

say $110 to $177 but inevitably in a healthy price rise we will have pull backs averaging 50% .

So if your looking to get in, look at around  the $144 ish level to be buying .

The news affecting bitcoins price rise is not speculative news or manipulated figures  ,it is solid and reliable so it makes sense to me that the value of bitcoin would rise .

So for speculative buyers I would say never buy highs wait for a healthy pull back .

Gold is a great example ,the rise to $1,800 ish and now around $1300 ,is gold crashing ,hell no ,but its a healthy pull back for those who know the real value of gold .

Gold and silver are great buys at the moment .

If you are thinking short term profits then $144 buy, but in the longer term  I think you will be talking four  digits per coin.
