Title: Help w/ Bitcoin + Tor Post by: ManaUser on July 24, 2011, 06:49:19 PM I'm trying to set up Bitcoin (standard client) with Tor. I know alot of people do it so I figured it would be easy, but something doesn't seem right. I've it it to use 127.0.0.1:9050, but it still has connections when Tor isn't running. Not very many connections, but surely there shouldn't be any. What's going on?

Let me put it another way. I configure the Bitcoin client to use a proxy that does not exist, yet it still reports connections. How is this possible?
