Title: Localbitcoins - transaction canceled because buyer took too long to deposit
Post by: rulfito on October 19, 2013, 02:39:15 PM
He deposited eventually but the transaction automatically canceled.

Localbitcoins says to seller has option to REOPEN the escrow.

Buyer too is slow or non-responsive: The escrow is automatically cancelled unless the buyer presses Mark payment done within the payment window (usually 90 minutes). If this was a mistake in this case you can reopen the escrow if you want to finish the trade with this buyer.

Unfortunately, there is no option to do so. Do they mean that the seller should begin a new transaction with the same buyer? I messaged localbitcoins but they haven't answered and I guess they will not over the weekend. Now the buyer is all annoyed cause he thinks I'm trying to run away with the btc when I'm actually just trying to do it correcnt.

Please give advice!

You can go to the contract page to reopen the contract as a seller.

Then release the coin.

I would be more careful if I were you as a seller.

What payment method you accept? There are group of people who do nothing bu scam new seller for a living on localbitcoin.
