Title: Rightbtc exchange scam
Post by: adroitful_one on March 17, 2018, 12:48:38 AM
Well, I have a coin called Metaverse(ETP) and the wallet on hitbtc was in maintenance. So I decided to find another exchange for it. Well, rightbtc showed up on coinmarketcap. So I deposited the coins there last night and they confirmed forever ago. Still absolutely nothing in my wallet. Afterwards, I did a little Googling on the exchange, and it seems that this has been happening to everyone. Stay away from this exchange! They're just taking all the money deposited and people don't even get to do any trading. I really wish coinmarketcap would remove that exchange from their market list. Luckily i'm not out but $15 or so from their scam.

Thanks for the information and letting us know about this exchange behaviour.

You should have googled it before depositing money instead of doing it later then you would have saved some money. This is the reason I'm bit worried to use any of the new exchanges but as you said if coinmarketcap list this exchange then some people may think it is a good exchange so they should consider to remove it soon.

I commented on the coinmarketcap thread and let them know about this shady behavior. Hopefully they will remove this market from their listing. Yea, I really should have googled it first, but I loaded up the exchange and saw trades going through. Figured it would be fine for such a low amount of money. That was my mistake. Hopefully a lot of people see this and avoid this exchange at all cost.

Aren't you suppose to do that before depositing the coins ? You will remember it from the next time I suppose. :)
It is not difficult to start a shitcoin exchange and get listed on coinmarketcap by targeting coins which aren't accepted on most of the platforms.Coinmarketcap doesn't actively track them down ,it's upto the depositor to research before blindly following them.

Everyone do mistakes, at least he tell us about the situation.
Well, rightbtc isn't a big exchange and does not provide any information regarding the company/persons who run this site.
However, it maybe a scam exchange or they have bad support.
You can read it here: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/RaiBlocks/comments/7o6evm/rightbtc_scam/
Some people can actually deposit/withdraw after 6 hours - 24 hours or even 36 hours.

Do read this article to know more exactly on the exchange: https://www.forexbrokerz.com/brokers/right-btc-review
Apparently, rightbtc has more liquidity of EPC coin than hitbtc or bitfinex as per coinmarketcap (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/metaverse/#markets). Though I won't use the exchange, cause I for sure do my own dilligence before doing anything. But since some people did get their money back,be sure to check again.

I just heard that exchange here, thanks for the heads up.

I hope they could read your post and response/take action. Though there's no assurance, isn't it still better to fill out the request form (you can see in the CMC main post)? By choosing "others > something else" you will be able to leave a feedback.

Thank you for the reminders. This is why im really hesitant on using up those exchanges being listed up on coinmarketcap specially when you coin is only being traded up on those exchanges.Sometimes i do only encounter new exchange on the list which i do really having 2nd thoughts before depositing my precious coin and same as other saying on here CMC shouldnt really list those exchange which do have a bad record. For you OP, its good that you did just put up or initial deposit of $15 for try out which is a nice move.

[...]

The people who do this are destroying the crypto world, one of the reasons that makes many people afraid to enter the crypto world is the fear of exchange, I say this because even I fear the exchange... imagine that Someone has a million dollars and wants to trade? if this person goes to google and do research of some exchange that is honest and safe, that person will not find any exchange, because all of them have some unresolved scam accusation.

as non-regulated governments are exchange and do not inspect the exchange, anyone can create an exchange and steal a lot of money. You did well to alert people, but if we could report to the police it would be a lot better.

OP already accepted his mistake and he has opened this thread to inform other members not to do the same mistake. So no need to question him again what he supposed to do it because sometimes we all do a mistake. Definitely, he will be very careful to deposit money into any online exchanges next time onwards.

Checked again, and still no coins in my account. Also, i'm going to fill out that form here in a little bit as well. I hate that people do this. I would have never even knew this exchange even existed if the coin I was trading wasn't in maintenance on the main exchange I use for it. But, it happens I guess. Not really a big deal. I'm just issuing a warning to everyone else to stay away.

I haven't had many withdrawal / deposit issues with RightBTC within the last months, always getting it within 24 hrs. BUT, not going to lie, I did when I first started using the platform back in the end of 2017. I personally have hope for it, it's still early in days and at the end of the day (or end of the month in some peoples cases) you get your tokens. Who knows- maybe you've made a shit ton because it took so long to deposit and the price jumped... I found this recent review made by FXEmpire that seems pretty cool here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1PjICyB_Gg (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1PjICyB_Gg)

Give it some time as we are in need of good exchanges with billions and billions of dollars hitting the space. Crypto is new, RightBTC is new, but the time is now! Show them constructive criticism instead of shitting on them and maybe they'll hear you out and improve! Really they just need to automate 99% of withdraw/deposits and it'd be an awesome exchange!

Sorry, but if you in current times can't provide a properly working exchange, then you are incompetent and shouldn't be allowed to run or operate anything. As exchange you are dealing with people's digital assets, and that alone involves a tremendous amount of responsibility. If you till today are processing withdrawals manually, it clearly shows that you as operator don't actually trust your platform.

Another factor that may play an important role here, is that the exchange itself is insolvent. If you delay deposits and withdrawals, behind the scenes you as exchange wait for enough deposits to accumulate, to then allow someone else to withdraw that specific coin. It can be seen as a scheme structure where the next investor pays for the previous investor's cashouts. Seriously, what do people actually know about this exchange?

People should just avoid these exchanges. If you do enough research beforhand, you won't have to deal with the exchange's incompetence afterwards.

Hi adroitful_one,

Very sorry to hear about this. We also list RightBTC at our page here: https://www.cryptowisser.com/exchanges/. We are the world's biggest coin exchange comparison site listing over 250 different exchanges. We would really appreciate if you could give RightBTC a rating (1-5 stars) reflecting how you have been treated. We will, however, not remove RightBTC from our list either, as we feel it is more helpful to the cryptocommunity to include RightBTC on the list but with a low rating then if that reflects how the community feels about the exchange.

Hope everything works out in the end...

All the best,
Cryptowisser

Different experiences and words can really be spoken out by other people since we do have different comments and views regarding to the site.If the exchange do have poor performance or giving its service then we can still freely make up our own words might not be right on other peoples ears but we do have the right to speak yet this is a forum after all.
Back on topic, this is why im quite hesitant to use up non so popular exchanges that shows on CMC because i dont even know if they are legit or not unless into those who are popular.

I finally ended up getting the coins I had sent over after about a week of waiting. I think I have found something else that they're doing that shady. Will update this post whenever I can capture it on video and try to make a video of it in case they decide to change it. Be extremely careful selling into buy orders on this exchange. Not only are the fees absolutely rediculous, but they're doing shady things with the buy orders.

The exchange is very scammy. I can't withdraw my coins, they are not confirming by exchange (Approval is pending on preliminary review status). I was tried a tech support, but nothing is happened. One of it answering: "Betty Zhang, [27.08.18 14:30] sorry , we can not release your withdrawal". I was passed full verification at the request of technical support, but nothing resolved too.

Create thread on Scam Accusation (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0), most of people usually come to that section to see if there's a new scam accusation. Don't forget to follow Scam Report Format (Use it to make scam reports properly) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0).

Looks like Scammer Betty Zhang now pretends to be the COO of scam exchange ZBTCEX ( zbtcex.com ) and ABEX ( abexb.com ).

Read what they did with us here - https://www.reddit.com/r/wantmarketplaces/comments/dcflsk/scam_zbtc_exchange_zbtcexcom_and_abex_abexbcom/

We lost 50 days of our lives on their scam and fraud. Stay away from Ruben Punay, Betty Zhang and Wang Jingfeng. We could only find one profile for these scammers - https://cn.linkedin.com/in/betty-zhang-070b96100

Total Frauds. And on top of it, they accuse us. Wow. Unbelievable.
