Title: Dumb question Post by: DrElektron on July 25, 2011, 05:15:28 AM do you have to be actually running an instance of the bitcoin client.. eg i run my non secure day to day wallet on my lappy, if i hop on a plane and someone sends me a bitcoin.. whats happens?
thanks Title: Re: Dumb question Post by: nmat on July 25, 2011, 05:17:01 AM You can see your bitcoin the next time you open the client. When a person sends you a bitcoin, it's actually sending the transaction to the bitcoin network. The network will validate the transaction and deposit the money on your address. It doesn't matter if you are online or not.

Title: Re: Dumb question Post by: ibrennan on April 16, 2013, 04:29:53 AM I was wondering that too! and like they said, you'll get it when you open it back up. I think sometimes it takes a bit though, especially if the wallet needs to sync because youve been away for a while or some other reason.
