Title: Suggest merit for newbie
Post by: Roberttran on March 18, 2018, 06:22:55 AM
merit is to evaluate your contribution to the bitcointalk community. very good idea I have an idea . admin and those with high rank. You can often host good article contests, or open a topic to contribute ideas to the growing bitcointalk community. From there merit award for those articles. To give newbies like me more motivation and ideas to build the community as well as themselves, more knowledge and experience for the cryptocurrency environment.

All of life is a contest, and this forum is no exception. However, there is a great spirit of cooperation and help here. In my opinion, we don't need article contests, but we do need posters who can contribute to the sensible threads, Discussions about the experiences of new members, and those new to crypto can be just as valuable and interesting as those of more experienced members.

We can learn a lot from other peoples mistakes, and their ideas.

What's already stopping you from just making 'good articles' and why would we need to open a contest? Isn't the merit system already a contest? Just make good posts and they'll likely be rewarded. People who make exceptionally well written posts usually already get a load of merit it seems so just keep posting without expecting competitions to be run.

Several days ago actually there were some threads to give merit for members who register in that, the idea is good I think. It is better to arrange a special thread to be administered by someone focus on this merit giving and to compete to be classified for similar members such as newbies up to member rank, then full member up to Sr member, and Hero up to Legendary. This is considering knowledge and experience in posting from the member classification and also number of merit giving will be treated appropriately just like rewarding stake in signature campaign. It is enough for first class of merit number giving :
1. up to member : averaged by 1 merit from one another member
2. Full member up to Sr member : averaged / maximum by 10 merits from one another member
2. Hero up to Legendary : averaged / maximum by 25 merits from one another member

Those merit giving is valid for 1 posting.
So if there are special merits giving threads arranged then most of members will be gathered there for easier way to obtain merit and also to be easier for monitoring merit giving by members. Other merit giving such as now still able to run as usual, hope the merit giving gathering like that will be easier for many things positively.

i think there is no need to host an article contest just to prove that you are a good at it, all i can say that if everyone is being aware of high quality post and not afraid to give merits everyone has the opportunity to rank up and contribute the circulation of merit in the forum. this merit system is more than enough to motivate us to make good quality post and read more to have more knowledge so that we can contribute more in this forum.

Simply keep doing what you love to do (of course, should be positive ones).
Keep being helpful as your internal basic instinct (if not, improving yourself over time to be more helpful, more generous).
Stay away from merit beggars, merit exchangers, merit cheaters because they can attract you to wrong sides.
Of course, you can contribute to the forum via both your threads, your topics, your articles, your blogs, etc. No one can stop you to do this, except only you.

Consequently, you can do all of them by yourself, no need to wait for help from admin, moderators, higher ranked users.
