I don't mean to be rude but I HAVE to be honest.

These look kinda lame and boring.  They are no different than Casascius' coins.  Infact his look better.  You just have a similar design and all that pops is that sticker.  The detailed work also looks boring.

You have to one up Casascius and show him what a REAL coin is.  Perhaps you can work with a material scientist and chemical engineers to refine your metals to give them a very cool and signature characteristic.  Also how about intertwining other metals and instead of a sticker to achieve that brilliance that everyone loves, how about you alter the chemistry to achieve that across the entire coin?  You know? Something that would BLOW YOU AWAY.  If I were to invest my time in something like this, I would deliver something out of the world. And you should do the same. Mind blowing work will sell like pancakes with a side of bitcoins.

For example, I am so psyco about one upping everyone that I bugged the US mint to figure out how they embedded that blue strip in the new $100 USD bills with the holographic effect. That is super cool.  I plan on having some very very very fancy and unusual business cards made for our startup that when you hand to someone, they will show all their friends because they just never saw anything so cool and new.  I'm sure anyone that saw the new Benjamin bill knows what I'm talking about.  It's super cool... but not cool enough! Anyway, it's also a marketing strategy and a work of art. :D

Is the diameter 30mm for your 1 Troy Oz coins containing 25LTC ?
What is the diameter for your 1 Litecoin Nickel-plated Brass coins ? Are these coins still with the original LEALANA holograms ?

I'm really interested by those and will surely order some for Christmas.

The 1 oz silver coins are 39mm diameter.

1/2 oz silver coins are 30mm diameter.

1/4 oz silver coins are 25mm diameter.

Brass coins are ~30 mm (just shy of 30mm).

For me the finish looks better than Casascius, but I don't think Hawaiian text fits at all on the worlds first truly planetwide currency. I'm so on the fence. Why don't you seller PM me if you want to nudge towards a sell.

My goal wasn't to make it "fit" on the coin. I was trying to be original. I'm from Hawaii so for me it is fitting that a Hawaiian themed physical bitcoin be created, especially since I am part Native Hawaiian (i.e. Kanaka Maoli)

I use btc but cannot relate in any - for me - feasible way to that text.
But ofcourse this is personal. I'm not judging, trying to give feedback to the one who made the tremendeous job in minting a physical bitcoin. I have heard that feedback is appreciated among producers. If it doesn fit and the maker is offended, I am sorry.

I guess I could say the same thing about Latin lettering on any coin, it doesn't relate to me. Most of our legal tender coins in the U.S. have this. But do I care that it has latin written on it? Not really, yet I think the coin artwork is awesome.

I received a 1 LTC piece, a 5 LTC, and some .25 BTC and .5 BTC pieces yesterday and they all look great, but I have to say the BTC coins are really more striking in person than pictures can convey. The intricate background design appears frosted against the glossy silver background, and it's just stunning. These would make amazing gifts, as they are simply beautiful to look at -- even aside from their worth. Great work, smoothie!

After watching your practices and purchasing coins from you I have devised a similar mechanism for tracking coin types. I have not improved upon your mechanism but merely mimic it for the time being.

For example my newer coins start with addresses as follows:

1 LTC BRASS starts with LTC1, LTC2, LTC3... except for the "5" and "X" prefixes.

5 LTC 1/4 oz silver starts with LTC51, LTC52, LTC53...

10 LTC (except the original batch) starts with LTCX1, LTCX2, LTCX3...



0.25 BTC 1/2 oz silver starts with 1BTC1, 1BTC2, 1BTC3...

0.5 BTC 1 oz silver starts with 1BTCz, 1BTCy, 1BTCx...

These last two coins I took a central point of the vanity list:

0.1 BTC 1/4 oz silver starts with 1BTCm, 1BTCl, 1BTCk...

1.0 BTC 1 oz silver gold plated are 1BTCn, 1BTCo, 1BTCp...

New: I am going to be releasing shortly a Bitcoin brass coin with 0.1 BTC denomination which starts with 1Btc1, 1Btc2, 1Btc3...


Note: about 50% of the time the batches overlap but I try to keep an updated list of addresses I have used so that when I go to cut more keys with my epilog laser (as you do) I know what address for that coin type I used last as they are all sorted alphanumerically.

My first 1/2 oz and 1 oz Litecoin runs do not use any vanity in the addresses.

It gets confusing with so many different types and sizes of coins. So this mechanism helps to identify if I am using the correct address when generating certificates or funding the coins as well as inventory.

I have not published an up to date list of coins addresses yet, but I will sometime in the future when I get an open moment to do so (as I am sure Mike you are also slammed with orders despite disabling your site from taking orders). The list will consist of set #'s, serial #'s, addresses etc. It will be a quite complex list (perhaps I overcomplicated things in producing my coins).

But anyway, thanks again Mike for sharing. Very much appreciated.

The release should be next week after I return from the conference. They will show "2013" on them and will use a similar hologram to the BTC gold plated silver coins. Of course they will differ a bit to identify what holograms go with what coins.

I had my set professionally graded and slabbed.  They all came in between MS 64 and 66, what I would consider typical uncirculated grades for bullion production coins.

I love that ANACS grades physical BTC and LTC.  As far as I know no other coin grading service will accept them.

Also, I'm very happy that the highest graded coin was the premier coin of the set.

how do i check the amount of btc in my coins? when i type in blockchain.info it says "Firstbits not found"

I honestly do not know. I've had the same issue happen to me on block-explorer.com for LTC coins yet first bits for those coins work on explorer.litecoin.net.

I'm glad you were able to confirm funding and find the address via first bits.

Are the coins loaded or all unloaded?

They ship unloaded and once it is confirmed received by the buyer, the coins are then funded.

Also note that the COA includes the full wallet address so it's pretty easy to verify the balance of the coins using that.

I have suspended sales to get clarification on how I can move forward within the current regulatory system regarding "money transmitting" as FinCEN puts it.

Although I disagree on their definition of what "money transmitting" is and isn't concerning Bitcoin/Litecoin, I have taken the cautious route and am getting further clarification on how to proceed.
