Nope, probably not a sock. I was quite sure this was auction fraud, so I asked Theymos to do an IP check. No match.

What would one do with such a domain name?  Is it really worth btc in the name? no keyword targeting.

There's definitely a lot of potential for domains like these.

The domain would not be worth $20,000 to most knowledgeable people. However if someone's willing to pay that much they must believe it is. Either they're stupid or have a really good idea (I'm guessing the former).

How do you value these things? These numbers are way higher than I would reckon. llll.com is just retarded and btct is not great either (to me). Visa.com I can understand being very valuable though

what I meant is... when an LLLL domain is readable like visa.com/wood.com etc... the price range is above 5kUSD or around 9kUSD...

if an LLLL domain is not readable (like zwgt.com).... I would say around 900 - 2000....

Would be worth right around what you bought it for. $10. Numbers as directions are rarely worth anything..
make sure you get 2cam4btc.com and cam2btc.com, then you secure your portfolio of $30 worth of domains!

Thanks for the info. Value is really counter intuitive then. I wouldn't spend much on a domain name any day but I'd certainly pay a lot more for cam4btc than for btc with a random letter added to the end. I can see bitcoin.com or btc.com going for a lot though. Ah well, in dutch we say: "Wat de gek ervoor geeft" :)

Yes, any 3 letter domain are $10k+, can even be $100k+ (letter, not numbers and letters).

Do a google search of single-word .pe domain names, and you'll find that they're not worth much unless you develop a site on them.
