Title: Can I give Someone Green Trust?
Post by: Jamesbob16 on March 19, 2018, 08:31:35 PM
Hello There,

I am just a member of bitcointalk, I mean my rank is a member. If I like someone's work, Projects then can I submit Green Trust to their account?
Please kindly tell me, someone.
Have a good day. Thank You

Trust is one of the areas of this forum I well and truly don't get, but I think I do know enough to know that green trust can only be awarded by members who are in the default trust system.

Your rating will show up if you click on someone's trust, but it won't have any effect on what's displayed by the member's name. Nothing will be green and it won't award a number to the trust rating.

Liking someone's work is not really a matter of trust. Honesty, and a proven record of delivering promises is.

Actually, you can, but only you will see that Green trust on profile where you left feedback. For other people it will be shown as Untrusted feedback. Only users who are on DT (Default Trust) list can leave feedacks which will be shown as Trusted.
You can see more detailed explanation about Trust System here:

The trust system works by referral. Positive or negative trust that you give someone will appear to you and to any members that have given you positive trust. For example, if I give you positive trust, then I will see all the positive or negative trust that you give to other members.
That's incorrect. Giving someone a positive feedback/trust, isn't equal to adding them to your "trust list" (you won't see any of their ratings by default, unless they're DT1/2 members).

To OP:

First three responses, have valid points.
Also to make it clear, you should follow these (shown at "Trust" page):

Quote
Positive - You trust this person or had a successful trade.
Neutral - Comments. Your rating will not affect this person's trust score.
Negative - You were scammed or you strongly believe that this person is a scammer.

You can give trust to anyone you like but you should not abuse the system.
Trust should only be given to someone after that between you and your counterpart happened something who built trust between you and him/her.
In example you can leave trust if you buy something from an user and he delivers exactly and smoothly what he promised or vice versa, or if you received some sort of help where you risked something valuable and an user sorted that out without scamming you or trying to do it.

Thanks for correcting my misunderstanding.
