I hope the newbies can take your work here as an example what they have to achieve and stop mumbling about how "difficult it is with this merit system".

Congrats on you success. I hope other members get inspired by you and make quality contributions here to rank up. It would have been better if you shared some working tips with all of use. Based on your posting history, one thing I have observed that you are very active on this forum. You had been making posts here consistently for last few days. It's always nice to get some sort of recognition, and there are quite a few ways this happens on Bitcoin Talk. It ranges from kind words, through merits, positive trust and ranking. Once you get to member level, and you are able to include links, then ranking is only really important if you are promoting the sig bounties or trying to spam members via PMs.

I think it is a shame that so many newer members are completely focused on ranking, and ignore the benefits that they can get from being an active member of this form. The upranking of hugeblack shows that the forum will reward valuable members, and that the merit system is working as it was intended.

Congratulations, hugeblack! I hope that I can take your case as my big motivation. I have actually got 18 merits, and still fallen far away from the target of 100 merits, at which I can rank up to Full Member. As you demonstrated, constructive users can obviously rank up with merit system. It is possible challenge. I like the challenge because it also gives me motivations to learn more and to help others. Before the merit system, I don't think I should learn several aspects of the forum as after launch of merit system.

Of course it's possible if you are smart all way round.  :D
Me, I don't care about ranks anymore, it is not my top priority now. Who the hell cares about ranks if you can't even give one good answer to a one tough question. What matter most for me now is I'm not making shit around. I may don't know a lot of things, what most important is I know the basics.

Congratulations to you. Pretty sure your parents are so proud of you. More likely we are now in March approaching to April. This months celebrates the recognition day, graduation day like you, you graduated from full member and now you are senior.

Me myself can rank up too, im waiting for my activity point to be at sr. member and then i can be one.

To rank up you have to be good at writing and have an interest in the "correct" parts of the forum. But i could not have made a better system and a system above just activity was needed so in no position to complain :)

I could try to post on other parts than alt coins for merit, but without the interest it will be just a hunt for merit and posts not worthy of it so il just use the forum as before. In time il get there.

Please do not read this as a complaint to the merit system, my signature gives half the profit but i did not join bitcointalk for the signature campaigns. Actualy did not know how good they were before i had been here 3 months haha

I think yes this is the one who declare that he ranked up after merit was implemented but there are many users already ranked up but they do not post any declaration like user "nullius" his merit is can rank up until hero. Also some users who are oustanding poster are only waiting for their activity to rank up hope i could rank up too in the future.
