Title: Electrum bitcoin wallet 3.1.1 portable doesn´t open Post by: cryptoolli on March 20, 2018, 02:35:20 PM Hi, i use the Electum Bitcoin Wallet portable on an USB Stick with Windows 10.
I tried to use the actuel portable version 3.1.1 on my USB Stick but the Wallet didn´t open. Version 3.0.6. opens without any problems. Do you know where is the problem with version 3.1.1 ? Have you tried to open the standalone version or install it normally to check?
P.s: It's not recommended to use the portable version of Electrum. Don't get me wrong: I am not saying that a portable build is by itself more dangerous than a non-portable version. Now about the original question: I made a test for you and I reproduced the problem. And I have a fix too. From electrum_data move away all the folders except wallets. Electrum portable 3.1.1 will start. You will have to select your wallet again. The only thing that I noticed is it is detected as virus from Kaspersky. Maybe your antivirus is blocking electrum 3.1.1 when running it to a USB drive since Windows 10 has built-in antivirus(Windows Defender) Could you try to disable your Windows Defender first and try again? Make sure that you are offline before you do this for safety purposes. |
