Title: What is the most "Bitcoin" thing you've done?
Post by: jacktheking on March 21, 2018, 12:18:40 PM
Personally for me, the most "Bitcoin-ish" things I have ever done is spending 27 days, 11 hours and 23 minutes minus AFK time on Bitcointalk to obtain the rank Legendary. With the hope that one day I will be able to put it inside my resume - alright, just kidding.

What's the most Bitcoin-ish things you have ever done?

eg. laszlo for being the first person to buy pizza with Bitcoin

While I have not done any world famous feats, yet, such as the pizza event, bitcoin sign guy, etc., I have talked a lot about Bitcoin to my friends and even a couple of local smaller shops that I frequent. This was even before the recent run-up last year, so it was still not mainstream at the time. Some friends who had pushed me off early on, came running back late last year asking how they could get into this Bitcoin, lol.

Other than that, just the usual stuff I suppose, I mine coins, alts mainly now, but convert a good few back to Bitcoin for long term holding. I spend a lot of time here on the forum and other related sites. Oh, and this last Christmas I did handout some paper wallets to close family members to try and spread the word.

Probably a lot of people who do things with bitcoin in their own way and I also do people who first get to know and earn income from bitcoin in my village, it becomes unusual if in my village.

If that's the case, then I have almost spent nearly two years in bitcoin forum either getting updates about bitcoin or clearing some one else's doubts about bitcoin. When I first started trading,i used to sit in front of laptop for the whole night.

The most bitcoinish thing which I have done is to quit my job in Dubai after entering the bitcoin world and just started to enjoy financial freedom.

Probably the most bitcoinish ::) thing that I've done was putting all my money into it. And i don't regret it, it was a hell of a ride, especially in 2016 (hated that year).
I regret not trying something crazy back in 2014 or 15, like wearing a T-shirt with my QR code or painting my BTC address on a car or tagging some buildings with it. I know it's vandalism, but you only live once. :)

I actually have a friend who left his review for licensure exam for CPA over bitcoin which is for me, the most bitcoinish thing I have ever seen.

So far, the only thing I've done for bitcoin this past 3 months of being involved in this forum is waking up in the morning, turning my speakers on (in a volume wherein my neighbors will able to hear what I'm watching) watching some videos about cryptos in youtube. That's probably weird but until now, anything about crypto turns out to be my daily bread  ;D

I'm extremely obsess with BTC .. Do I need some counseling?  ;D

Well the most "Bitcoin" thing I have done is earning bitcoins from bounty campaigns and my services thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2894992 . For me it's a very very big deal. I can now have support financially for myself and it really helps me for school expenses.

The most Bitcoin thing a person could do is maybe buy drugs from the darknet lol. But the forum doesnt have darknet "explorers" anymore, unlike the early years, or so I have heard. ;)

But I tried to buy a fake ID once but I thought it was a waste of BTC.

But I used as a support and the currency of the user, I am very happy, because I made a little contribution to the currency, I believe that the currency will be used by more and more people, can even become a global currency.

I was wearing a Tshirt printed with BTC logo on it in a store that accepts btc in our area and two kids attempt to talk to me whether I'm buying using BTC, then I said yes. They than asked if they can buy BTC from me. I said sure and so I did send extra to them worth $50. I don't know where they posted the selfie we did but sure the BTC made them happy.

The most bitcoin thing I've done is to share my knowledge to others about bitcoin. Even if it is not in a material way to say that I am a fan of bitcoin definitely, sharing and promoting it to someone is a biggest thing I ever did in bitcoin.

Bitcoin is very interesting thing to me .Bitcoin is illegal in my country  :( . But to me it's technology very interesting. I watched many videos on YouTube . Blockchain is gorgeous . I started to learn about the blockchain on various blogs . I see the amount of $ at coinmarketcap and guesses its popularity and requirements. I bought some tokens (For HODL) and participated in various bounties to earn more bitcoin. I'm not rich . I believe, maybe one day this bitcoin will change my fate. :)

I run a small local Bitcoin community where I incentivize people to enter the Bitcoin world by holding fun lotteries that people can win by answering questions regarding Bitcoin.

I use a part of my signature campaign payouts to distribute small chunks of that to the winners of these lotteries. Most of them use Coinbase as wallet for convenience purposes, but some made the switch already.

I didn't even had to point it out myself. From the 14 people that the group counts, 3 made the switch to mobile wallet clients where they hold their own private keys. It's a fun little game overall, but it helps attracting people to Bitcoin.

And hodling, but how Bitcoin thingy can that be considered. :D

If that doesn’t count as obsession is an insanely addictive on cryptocurrency especially on bitcoin. I’ve been thinking about it for a while, but with my husbands opinion that is too much to be called normal. Done the days that I can’t sleep not to think about it.

I'm spreading the word, the understanding of how important it is to distance ourselves from the corporations terrorizing and suppressing our financial tasks and freedom. People don't realize how important and beneficial it is to take care of our own wealth -- why would anyone here needs to ask permission to move value from one place to another? It makes zero sense because it's OUR value, but yet corporations feel it's needed to make that decision for us. I feel that people focus too much on the earning money aspect rather than what I have been pointing out -- there are just too many get rich quick noobs not caring about anything other than profits....

1. Faucets - When i was newbie in bitcoin i'm just spending or wasting my time in just faucet websites to earn a small cents of money because i don't have any money to put in.
2. Joining on HYIP and Cloudmining - After i get money from faucets and get my allowance on school i've tried to invest on hyip and cloudmining, I'm newbie and didn't know that hyip and cloudmining are scams.
3. Making a faucet website - I've tried to make my own faucet website because i read it on blogs that you can earn a huge profit on making a faucet website but when i was done bots and hackers are steals my bitcoins and i just earned a cents and all of my investments are gone :(
4. Signature Campaign - I discovered signature campaigns here when i posted question about faucet website then this is the first time that i've earned a good salary and im thankful that i discovered bitcointalk ;D
5. Trading Altcoins - All of my salary here on signature campaigns and bounty i invested on trading and i've been successful now ;D

I will say that I am yet to do it. I am planning to make a YouTube channel where I will share the experiences of other people in my country related to bitcoins. There is still a lot of growth opportunity for bitcoins in my country and thus there is opportunity for such channel as well. Current channels in my local language are mainly focused on promoting new exchanges with shady practices.

I would say the most Bitcoin-ish thing I did was try to get out to my close friends and relative what's bitcoin is all about. I wouldn't say I'm successful though, because majority of them thinks that bitcoin is a scam. I have arranged several Bitcoin meetups in my area and we even arranged with a local restaurant to have them as our fixed venue for future meetups. <They did not accept Bitcoin as a payment method before this, but they decided to start accepting it, because we supported them every weekend.>

I also started working on a book, sharing my experience and what I have learned from my time spend in this scene.   :P

Something most bitcoin-ish? I try to educate people on bitcoin since 2014, when I started mining it myself, but with variable effect. None of my friends that I spent long hours discussing bitcoin (and its huge potential) back then in 2014 bought nor mined bitcoin (though they are admitting they deeply regret it now :) ).

Currently I am working on my uncle, who is a very outspoken bitcoin skeptic, and unfortunately with all that shift of bitcoin from being considered growing currency to now being considered store-of-value only (and all those merchants who stopped accepting bitcoin in 2017 when the transaction fees went through the roof) I have hard time proving that he can just go out and buy things like bread, fuel and cigarettes with bitcoin.

So you might say I am not a very effective bitcoin evangelist :) but I am doing my best.

I bought a coin which is an altcoin that rises from 1$ to 60$ using bitcoin but it is in crash now. Last time I checked, it is around 4$ again. Yes I know that I lose profit but i believe that as time pass by it will recover its price.
Another bitcoin-ish thing I've done is I'd spent my whole day just surfing and doing cryto things. I do not know that it is possible but I did it.

The most crypto thing that I have done so far was joining a 45 weeks campaign which lasted till in the future. I joined  at my first bounty and till now, I did not get any cent about my campaign (the only campaign, I joined). I quit from it recently because nothing goes on. My realization was late but I think it is not the time to lose hope in crypto. I am just starting

Interesting topic, the most "bitcoin" thing I have ever done is spending the majority of my time in the day to claim some satoshies from several faucets that were linked to one particular bitcoin wallet. At the end of 15 days, I was able to withdraw only 0.001btc from these faucets. :-\

The most bitcoin-ish I've done was to teach a few individual the basics of Bitcoin and after all said and done, they said "This thing is too complicated for my understanding". I was like WHAT!!!

Telling all my friends to buy bitcoin when it dipped to 11k and that it would be the last time the price would be so low. They've still not let me live that down. The joke will be on them in a few years time when that 11k bitcoin will be worth 10 times that or more  :D

My own most bitcoin thing that have done is about the eager and the stressful thing that I passed through before I could purchase a particular ICO. Though it was due to a not too good network and we're at our utmost preparing for the time to purchase the ICO, I and we went through hell before we could buy a particular units of the ICO then.

The most Bitcoin-ish thing I have ever done is waking up early in the morning and to have a sleepless night to complete all of requirement post in the signature campaign I partcipated. Sometimes I need to manage my time to do Bitcoin and all of my activities outside the crypto world. Time Management and responsibility is really important in every action we make.

Well I support my family back in Venezuela solely through Bitcoin. They sell it there and get local currency in exchange, so I guess that's pretty cool

While I've not been on this platform, nor on the bitcoin network for quite a long time,i have adapted quite well during this period and in that process I've introduced the network/system to members of my family, as well as aiding them in getting accounts on this forum to learn more and more

I do not let an opportunity slip in talking to a friend or a colleague in class about the importance and benefits of the system, outlining how beneficial it's been to me financially and other wise

I contribute my own quota in that little way

The most bitcoinish thing I've done has to be investing my tuition fee. Lucky I didn't regret it, was early 2017. I wonder what would have happened if I tried it in 2018  :-\

The thing that impressed me the most from Bitcoin was when I did Bounty hunting, I had to find a good project for me to follow. So I have to examine one by one a Bounty project that has reached Softcap on its website so that when it finishes it can go directly into the exchange. Maybe it's the kind of thing I'm always passionate about.
