Title: Question on mining with multiple GPU's and combined khash, Post by: Cablesaurus on February 04, 2011, 08:15:22 PM On my 5970 I have things setup where I'm getting ~345khash on Core 1, and ~295khash on Core 2. I'm using the python opencl miner, in Windows 7, and I have to run 2 instances of the miner .exe, 1 on each core.
It occured to me since I'm running 2 instances, aren't my results not "pooled" between the cores? Wouldn't it make more sense for me to somehow pool the block search? Would there be a simple way for me to do this? I've never done pooled mining yet with a public group either, but I'm just curious and trying to investigate. Thanks for any thoughts. Since you're the only one in it, there's no reason to set up anything more elaborate.

My 6 core 1090t does less than 10,000 k/hash per second. My radeon 5970 does ~660,000 k/hash per second. Yes, gpus are much better than cpus.Title: Re: Question on mining with multiple GPU's and combined khash, Post by: Cryptoman on February 07, 2011, 08:24:13 PM Yes, gpus are much better than cpus. Unless your GPU doesn't have CUDA or OpenCL support, in which case I recommend pool mining with jgarzik's CPU miner.
