Twitter CEO Says Bitcoin Will Become World’s ‘Single Currency’ Within A Decade

Jack Dorsey, the CEO of both Twitter and payment service Square, has said that he sees Bitcoin (BTC) as the world’s – and Internet’s – single future currency, The Times reports today, March 21.

Dorsey believes that Bitcoin’s leading emergence will take “probably over ten years, but it could go faster”:

This is a bit extreme. Even if Bitcoin has the potential to become the world’s most used currency, governments will not sit back and allow this to happen. Legislation and regulation to stifle Bitcoin will become inevitable as governments try to regain control.

At the same time, there are some rumors that Twitter is going to ban crypto ads as Google and Facebook already did https://www.coindesk.com/twitter-will-ban-cryptocurrency-ads-in-two-weeks-says-report/

I don't understand when he's telling the truth. When does he want to ban cryptocurrency advertising because it's pyramids and scams or when he says that bitcoin in 10 years will be a single world currency? It seems to me that no one has a permanent opinion and changes it depending on how the situation develops.

I do not see the slightest possibility of this happening in a short time. It would completely change everything we know about economics. It would end up with much of the influence that governments have. Some people would have great decision-making power, and few people would accept their power.
