Which big company will adopt bitcoin first? and why? (Amazon/NetFlix/Facebook/ebay/ etc...)

Define big companies it could be argued that big companies have already started to adopt Bitcoin, some have since withdrew this due to the market instability recently and the fees issues. But, for example Steam is one of these big companies which is used by millions of people and were accepting Bitcoin before they pulled it recently due to the reasons above.

I think it's amazon , the world's largest online retailer. The company was originally a book seller but has expanded to sell a wide variety of consumer goods and digital media as well as its own electronic devices, such as the Kindle e-book reader, Kindle Fire tablet and Fire TV, a streaming media adapter. Accepting Bitcoin really is a next big move of them.

Tons of big companies have 'adopted' it and proven why others won't bother for a long time to come. No one who has it wants to spend it in case it's worth more in the future. Anyone who doesn't have it isn't going to bother buying something to buy something.

Retail will be the last thing to slot into place, if ever.

Last year we heared here on forum rumours that McDonalds could start accepting Bitcoin as payment method from 2018 on. But the news disappeared after the big fall in price we saw months ago. Then, I'm not sure if there are still real chances it can happen.

These companies don't adopt an idea like this without thinking a lot about it first, and once it start being problematic/disadvantageous for them, they give up the idea instantly.

Microsoft is the biggest company that adapts the use of bitcoin. We all know that Mr. Bill Gates is also famous and the richest people in the world. He is fan of using cryptocurrency and in fact, he had a video that I watched before when I was newbie in cryptocurrency. However, there are stories that Microsoft already removed bitcoin in their transactions because they already thought that they can lose a big profits of their is a crash in the price of bitcoin.

I guess it's not started to big companies,it all started with small ones. Small companies can easily adopt bitcoin because they don't have to worry about they only taking risk if ever the business may click or become successful in the future. Big companies on the other hand,will doubt because they always think for negatives and pressures.

Its hard to predict this thing but I'm pretty sure those companies you mentioned will surely adopt blockchain technology and not just bitcoin. Cryptocurrency is on the mainstream right now, most of the countries are talking on this what more in the future.

I think a company that plunges into a larger online transaction has the opportunity to adopt a crypto currency, probably like Alibaba, and another company.

In my opinion, since Amazon is an online retailer. This is 30% possible, 70% not and it's is still related to the volatility of cryptocurrencies especially if it will be intended to use as payment. There are tons of things that needs to be considered particularly the following:

• If Amazon third-party sellers are willing to embrace it
• Purchasable products in Amazon website will become cheaper or overprice at no time.
• Profitability of the entire Amazon community will become unstable (Unless they're willing to hold their BTCs until their preferred time of conversion to fiat)
• Even if Amazon will come up with a system that will automatically update everytime there's a movement happen with BTC in exchange. It is still risky for a well - established business in Amazon and I'm sure 90% of them will not take that risk.

Anyway, it's still only my opinion. Let just wait and see how Amazon will integrate crypto to their Marketplace, IF IT WILL GONNA HAPPEN  ;D

Big company companies that one day would be in dire need of bitcoin with the development of the current era and Amazon and ebay companies I think that will adopt bitcoin first.

But I don't think so, they will not use bitcoin but they will make their own coin. And I think that's more effective ways, because they can set their advantages and feature, like cheaper fee, faster payment and etc.
and I think is some big company use Bitcoin, I think isn't too effective, because fee of bitcoin enough expensive for me, and if I buy goods from amazon, and I pay with bitcoin I will charged by enough expensive fee.
So to fix that problem, I think make own coin will be an good solutions if they want to use Blockchain technology. And I think this will be more easy and safe to do payment.

Bitcoin is very good to be applied in the business of the company let alone companies that plunge in the world of transactions or trade Online Online such as Amazon and ebay and also Facebook will initiate the adoption of bitcoin.

bitcoin to be a global currencies is have big impact for public, i think if the big company use bitcoin for next other company will use it too and of course this situation will make bitcoin price will increase to the moon, but what happen if the big company use bitcoin and bitcoin resisted by many people? it will make bitcoin price go down

If they are big and already have customer base I think those who have "BIG" Company may not use crypto as payment. but many are also POPULAR but they want to make streghtness of their bussiness . " easy transactions as the advantages of its services are also many who already use crypto / bitcoin for their payment. as a feature of overpayment for services they offer.

Companies that have adopted bitcoin first are CheapAir They first received Bitcoin in 2013 and have never stopped since. Just like with Dell, the CheapAir bitcoin payment system is integrated directly into their checkout page and supported by Coinbase.

I guess all the big companies want to use bitcoin as their payment method because BTC is still much popular among people and now we can see the craze among people for cryptos and moreover there is a profit in using BTC as a payment system, once you made payment and till the time when you make another payment in between your BTC Valuation will increase and you can get your profit without doing anything but I guess Netflix will first start to accept bitcoin because of its most expensive shares.

I don't think any of them will adopt Bitcoin. More likely they will adot the Blockchain technology tho.

I amvery much in doubt if it will be facebook considering their actions at blocking cryptocurrency adverts and related pages.Maybe Amazon,they probably will launch their own coin.Come to think of its,imagine amazon doing an ico,almost everyone will want to have a piece of it.

The rumor about amazon accepting bitcoin is still a rumor I don't know if that will be in reality and they will adopt it soon. With facebook, there can be a glitch with what's happening besides the ban of crypto ads has been implemented. Maybe Mark Zuckerberg is planning to create his own crypto coin for his social network as an alternative to bitcoin but he can potentially accept bitcoin too.

I think Amazon will be adopting Bitcoin as payment. Amazon being a leading retailer chain has well oriented buyer and seller base. Even a news was flashed some days back on forum that Amazon has bought some blockchain domain name and working to launch a platform that accept Bitcoin and other popular crypto-currency.

Amazon will probably be the first, I doubt they will allow direct retail transactions but they might use their own version of bitpay converting bitcoin to fiat. For direct bitcoin payments perhaps their cloud servers will accept it as some are used for crypto mining anyway ;D

When it comes to these big corporations, adoption of Bitcoin is not just an economical case, but a political one. Therefore, if and when it will be politically convenient, all of the biggest corporations will probably adopt bitcoin at the same time or so, since they all are in cahoots with US government.

I do care on what big company is about to adopt bitcoin but there's no need to ask on whom will be the first one and why. And answers why they will adopt it first probably it's because the popularity of bitcoin is increasing and it's rapid growth can't be ignored anymore. Seems plausible but they can't ignore bitcoin so they will also adopt it.

i wish amazon adopt the bitcoin because of being an international company it will make easy for the amazon if they use bitcoin for payments

I think that Amazon would be the front runner to adopt bitcoin first.Already Amazon has registered three website domains with the name crypto currencies.They had already been discussing to accept bitcoin payments.But just to implement it,they have delayed till now.So they would revolutionize the whole online industry with such a move.

About other big companies like facebook I think they would rather create their own cryptocurrency running on their platform than adopting any other cryptocurrency that they can't control.

There is no certainty on it. But I don’t think it will be Microsoft. Recent statement of Bill gates on crypto allow me to think so. I think I can be Amazon, as I have it has quite a lot interest on it. It can be Twitter too.

I hope amazon a leading retailer will adopt the bitcoin. They already started to discussing about the use of bitcoin as a payment. The value of bitcoin has to be somewhat stabilized before being utilized by the amazon. If bitcoin has been adopted  by amazon it can promote the potential of cryptocurrency.

Amazon registered amazonethereum.com, amazoncryptocurrency.com and amazoncryptocurrencies.com last year.
But they registered amazonbitcoin.com a few years ago already. I don't think they are/have discussed to accept bitcoin payments.
As far as i remember these domains were bought to make sure they won't be used for scams/shady stuff by other people.

My guess is that he's just speculating.

I think now all big companies will wait the regulation procedures after G20 come to agreement that crypto currencies need a regulations and will do it this year.

Actually, amazon not really accept bitcoin, it's only use vendors to manage their transactions so it's only recieve usd. Most likely the financial and technology industry will be the first to adopt bitcoin/blockchain technology. Attores is building a platform that simplifies the creation, deployment and execution of smartcontract on blockchain. Anyway, bitcoin price is so fluctuates which is not suitable to be used for keep the profit for short term but will be more profitable for long term, holding stocks or bitcoin for long term is always profitable.

Adaptation means receiving cryptocurrency as a way of payment or advertising any crypto related companies as an advertising window for it. If this is the last one is definitive then Facebook has adapted this technology for a much longer now, even with regulation on this year alone at least they’ve opened the eyes of the public and one reason of the popularity of bitcoin. As Amazon, rumors receiving bitcoin as payment w/out the official announcement from the CEO and owner it would not prosper.

Haha, I guess that's kind of the problem then, isn't it? I love deflated currency but it does seem like no one wants to spend bitcoin... So how do we get to the point where people will want to? Once markets stabilize?

Actually, right now, Bitcoin isn't slow. Transaction fees are fairly low, about 1 sat/b, and they confirm after few blocks. Big companies don't care what was the original vision of Satoshi Nakamoto. My guess is that adoption will play a huge role here. You also mentioned Lightning Network, I agree with you that it will help Bitcoin to become more, but we are still far from its wider adoption.  Bitcoin deflationary nature might slow this process.

Tripleclick was one of big company accepting Bitcoin for buying and selling Goods. I have used Bitcoin to purchase many times form them. But it maybe because of the coin market... Which is s down maybe the reason why some stopped accepting but later they with reap massive gain. If you have bitcoin keep holding because after April may will start bring money massively. So take your risk now. Don't put a your egg in one basket..

In my opinion no big company will adopt Bitcoin. They would rather develop their own blockchain.
