When we have a post with the [img] tag showing just a link, does it get automatically converted to the image itself once we get the jr. rank?

From the above table you should received Jr. Member around 6 weeks from the date you open your account, provided you actively posting everyday and achieve at least 30 Activity score.

You can post image when you achieve Junior Member rank

yes. I don't see why not. If the [  img  ] tag stays in your post code, then of course when you turn Jr. Member the image tank will automatically turn on :)
