The survey shows that huge number of American are into cryptocurrency and 8% of the population planning to buy a crypto.
This is an indicator that many people around the world are crypto-educated. It can boost a crypto market.

I think that its actually showing that cryptocurrencies are nearly on beginner recognition levels. It clearly shows that altcoins may raise to 10x or even 100x levels over time.. Probably altcoin adoptions is lot lower.

The survey looks really good and it does indicate that the interesting in crypto is increasing , however this %8 planning to buy is not necessary a sign of knowledge , we all know that buying crypto now is really easy . I hope that the new comer educate them self about crypto before decide to jump in so they can at least protect them self from scams . We really do not want people to jump in to only exit the very next day .

I still believe that the cryptocurrency market is still stay in the hype of the stage, the application is not too much people enter the reason is simply the investment of cryptocurrency market, I hope in the next blockchain and cryptocurrency can really change the world.

Only 2001 people were surveyed, but still, percentages are quite impressing but still inaccurate.

This is the reason why i strongly believed that cryptocurrencies would be adopted by most of the people.Because more and more people are aware to what this technology can bring to us,total decentralized currency and a lot of things that could better with the u.s of blockchain technology.Lets hope that the SEC would realize how powerful the blockchain is so that it would be much easier to get the technology for those people.

In my opinion, 26Million or 8% of the population is already a large number.
We have to exclude large percentage of the population from the potential owner of cryptco.

It's a lot compared with the age of the cryptocurrency itself. It just like said to the SEC "hey as far as you were trying to ban crypto the new people will come from your country because of that the potential of cryptocurrency itself"

This becomes a proof to the SEC about how crypto can't be banned even with really strict regulation because it was standing with its foot.

8% of the populations are considering to invest in the crypto and that's a huge amount.

If 1 of 3 Millennial own a crypto that's around 12 million American. Its a huge population excluding the generation X that own crypto.
I think America will be the first country to be cryptonized.

As of presents the crypto cannot considered as currency but an assets. But seems the cryptocurrency is already positioning itself to take over the world of currency.
If it gonna raise 10X then it better to hold some altcoins.

I think, the critical mass of users of cryptocurrencies has to be not less than 5% of the population of all developed G8 countries. Then there will be very big shift in introduction of the cryptomarket in economy of the countries. And at the moment, in my opinion, users about 1% of the population of the G8

But maybe more than 20 million of them have bought cryptocurrency just to try it or trade it. There is not 26 million experienced and knowledgable coin holders

This statistics is a good indication that cryptocurrency has already reached a certain level in which it can already be considered a mainstream technology. United States of America has a huge population and if this huge population will truly support cryptocurrency, there is no reason why crypto will also not be accepted in some countries. Taking into consideration also the fact that a lot of countries are looking at the US in terms of what is the latest trending. Whatever it is that is trending in the US may possible may imitated by other countries as well.

And of that 26 million #, those are only the ones who disclosed their ownership.
I'm almost certain that there are people who own crypto but don't want to talk about it as they fear having the gov getting involved, so they keep it to themselves.

I think this growth is happening all over the country in the world, every day newcomers are always growing and they want to get to know crypto. But unfortunately the average of those interested in high profits and want to quickly become rich. Unknowingly they have entered into high risk investments, therefore we have to educate them that this is not only a fortune, but the future of the payments world is in the crypto and blockchain.

if it's only 8% it seems it will still be difficult to make the price rise as there are still a few bitcoin enthusiasts in different stories when enthusiasts in the US state more than 50% will definitely trigger the price increase of all cryptocurrency.

 Let's  look into the figure not in the percentage. The 26Million owned crypto and doing trading still a huge number for the market is enough to fuel the price of crypto. This just in America how about the other part of the globe?

You have a point dude. it could be more higher if other just honest on the survey. Anyway it their prerogative to put themselves on private pertain to crypto. Even I, I would do the same.

in 2018 people who invest in the crypto currency will be much more than in 2017, because this is a very promising investment although very risky :)

It could be. Social media a good medium to carry information about cryptocurrency. That's why the number of people own crypto increases every year.
Not just because people found it as good investment but many people put their hope to be rich on cryptocurrency.

I'm glad that the crypto industry is developing and people have begun to understand the fact that crypto is our future. The more people are interested in crypto, the higher the demand and the price of coins. That's what we wait for.

How did they count? IMHO there is no such quantity of people here in crypto. If we count top exchanges how can they handle this quantity of users just from the USA) 

They did the survey. All of the of the numbers mentioned are all estimation close to reality.
I don't think so they will do that in exchange. They could violate some rules if they do that.

Probably those are just numbers that do not have any weight, probably that percentage is not accurate and there is less percentage of them. And, some of the markets are banning US citizens, I do not know why, but this is the reason which can probably exclude 1% of them. (my opinion)

Yes, and we have to be happy about it. More clients and more people involved is good for cryptocurrencies, so for us. People have to be educated about it. Sometime it might get over everything in the world.

And in 2018 we will see even more people who will invest in the crypto currency ;D, because they will see in this huge potential!

We can say its good figure but not all good and experienced in trading most are going to try this cryptocurrency and taking knowledge about this hopefully this could be very helpful in future as its spreading and need more good and experienced peoples in this community which can bring new ways and good fortunes for millions of peoples around the world

many cryptocurrencies are for free sooner or later thats gonna be all americans and all humans that own smartphones having cryptocurrencies.

That is the flaw of these survey as they are not an exact representation of the fact, if there are 26 million American owns a cryptocurrency then what would be the total number of users around the globe, it looks like there are not much coins for everyone to purchase . ;) What ever it may be we might see more users with time as there will be more exposure regarding the new market.

They have conducted a survey in a site where users earns rewards through survey and almost 2001 people participated in the survey and they have came to a conclusion that twenty six millions American's own cryptocurrency, it is a complete joke and we have seen the election polls where every survey showed that Hilary Clinton was leading and you now know what really happened. :D

This could be more interesting to read if more people would have surveyed for the company. Also, this survey is based upon nearly 2,000 people, so how can we assume that it can relate to 26 Million of American population. Moreover, many users have joined cryptocurrency to stay anonymous and such data can only be misleading and good to read nothing else. One cannot conclude anything from these surveys until global data of users using crypto currency is not analysed.

That is a number which will certainly grow in the coming years. Especially as the younger generation adopts blockchain technology and invests in bitcoin. When the SEC is sorted then we can get even more Americans into crypto, even the privacy coins if they want to do it anonymously

good news given the tax-imposed bitcoin in the US, that would add trusts with bitcoin and investors will increase, which will make the market rise again. considering the last few months bitcoin to be the pros and cons in various countries. which keeps the price down. hopefully for the future there is no more FUD that causes the price down.

I am not surprise...like the 50 million on food stamps also. .. We will see the game changing in less than a year even if we are at the beginning . 2018 is definitely the era of Crypto. Pornhub with verge (xvg)  is the beginnning of mass adoption.

Yes, after so many years of development, digital assets have begun to be accepted by more and more people, especially young people.

I agree that social surveys are not very reliable. However, regardless of whether this is true or not, the fact that cryptocurrencies are becoming more popular every day is a fact. Look at how the number of participants on this forum is growing. Every day people come for whom it is all new and unexplored and attractive.

People think that Pornhub and the partnership with verge would be the beginnning of mass adoption. I think the beginning of mass adoption happens when cryptos ard being actually adopted by a broad audience vs niche markets like gambling or porn. When are we goin to see a large retailer offering cryptos as payment?

Yeah, social survey could be a 100% reliable but it can give data to predict the numbers of people holding a crypto. All survey cannot be a 100% correct though.
For this 2018 i guess there more people hold crypto.

not only america, but the whole world is starting to get to know crypto and every year its users continue to grow. that means crypto is very popular and has a promising future.

If that is true, bitcoin and altcoin have become systems in the world! But I believe the actual number will be more!

I think that the percentage is higher than 8%. There are many other people who have not been conducted to this survey yet. Up until now, I believe the number of American people who are planning to buy crypto has increased. And this is considered to be a good news. The more people buy crypto, the more the demand on the market grows. Added to that, Cryptocurrency should be introduced to the ones who have not heard of it yet. That will give them a chance to participate too.

It is not a surprise number, American is the leader of cryptocurrency market. The real number maybe bigger because the survey didn't ask all citizens. 

This survey seems to be a clear pointer to the correlation between such quick and rising influx, regulatory woes and degrees of educated awareness, hence the extreme volatility.

26 mil. already own Cryptocurrency and 8% planning, which will double the number. It is a slow process but these numbers shows that there is an interest for Crypto and it is growing. Also a good sign is according to this statistics that millennials favor BTC over traditional bank accounts.
