Title: Buterin donated $ 2.4 million to research on aging
Post by: yakovsevsk on March 22, 2018, 11:43:37 AM
Perhaps now we have enough time to become a Legendary. :)

In February this year, Beveryn passed the $ 2.4 million Efirium crypto currency to the International Foundation for the Support of Research on Anti-Aging, which is headed by the famous British gerontologist Aubrey de Gray (SENS Research Foundation).

Last week, Buterin came to the SENS-organized conference "Undoing Aging" in Berlin, where more than 340 participants from 36 countries gathered. https://www.undoing-aging.org/

This is great news. Buterin and the Pineapple fund have both donated to SENS. Amazing to see people donating to such a worthy and important cause as combating aging which effects everyone!

Where did you find the information that Mr. Buterin funded the project? Attending doesnt always mean to invest, maybe he's just interested with the project. Would you mind sharing sources about this matter?  :)

I learned about this from a man who himself was at this conference.

Vitalik did not do this for PR. Therefore did not make public statements.
and I found an official confirmation in an interview with one of the newspapers, but in Russian. Here is the link -https://www.kp.ru/daily/26807/3843480/ (https://www.kp.ru/daily/26807/3843480/)

Considering how young Buterin is, it makes perfect sense to donate for a research which wants to stop aging. If they succeed, he will benefit too. Just like Ray Kurzweil is endorsing research on how to achieve immortality so that he can avoid to die.

I agree. Generally, nice to watch, when "the strongest people of our world" invest in health and youth. And the Crypto currency is ahead of the planet

This is great news. :)
I recently read an article about some researches that some scientist are conducting and it is about stopping aging where they attached an older mouse to a younger mouse and their blood interchanged and the vitals of the old mouse improved and that of the younger mouse deteriorated. I am sure the same can be applied to Human Beings as well.

I prefer another idea. I was a few years ago at the conference of Anthony Atala.  HE is a surgeon,  who deals with regenerative medicine. he showed,  how they typed a finger on a 3D printer to a person with his DNA and healed them. However, the cost of this was more than 1 mln $
