Title: Teamviewer and GPU Mh/s drops to 0
Post by: lppzaz on March 23, 2018, 06:29:11 AM
Hi Guys and Gals

I wonder if you would kindly lend me your superior knowledge of mining for a minute...

I set up a new rig and it was working fine, but as soon as i started mining with my gaming desktop at night one of the cards on my rig gpu0 dropped to 0mh/s - i eventually got so frustrated thinking it has something to do with my card on my desktop mining that i mounted the gaming card with the mining cards on the rig and now using on board graphics on my desktop - rig seemed happy and chugging away.

The first time i tried to look at the rig on teamviewer from my desktop the mining rig gpu0 drops immidiately to 0 and i have to disconnect the screen on my desktop, connect it to the mining rig and do a restart for the gpu0 to go back to it's original speeds...

I am fairly decent with computers but this strange behaviour has me mistified....

I need to be able to look at the rig on teamviewer without gpu0 dropping to 0mh/s and having to connect a screen and doing a restart, you help in this situation would be kindly appreciated.

I guess you are using AMD cards, am I right?
It's happened to some AMD cards. But don't worry, a dummy video output without connecting to monitor is more than enough. You can use HDMI adapter or something else that you can use on your mining cards output socket.

yeah i am sing amd, so if i leave the hdmi adapter in the card even unconnected to a monitor and then try accessing it from teamviewer it won't shit the bed and drop to 0mh/s?

That's it.
For new series like RX one dummy video output in one rig, it's enough, or straight to which card that troubled.

For old series like R9 family, sometimes need a few dummy video output.
