Title: SLL to BTC
Post by: add_ocean on October 26, 2013, 03:16:26 PM
Hello. If person wants to sell their SLL for BTC, what are best current options? Where to seek a counterpart? Anyone accepts SLL inworld? What exchange rate could be expexted?

Anyone accepts SLL inworld?
I doubt that, accepting SLL inworld is even more risky than accepting PayPal, people doing it will likely lose money.
Only accept SLL inworld from people you fully trust.

There are no "best options" since LL changed the ToS and removed the possibility to export SLL to 3rd party exchanges like VirWox or TheRock.

Not an alt-coin, a virtual world ingame-currency,
the SecondLife-Lindendollar.

Thanks for answering. I remember back then it was quite easy to convert it to usd. Then usd to btc would be easier.

for someone who has business in Sl it could be worth. Only feasible way to get USD out of SL is PayPal, and then there is some local regulations and restrictions based on country of residence. So direct exchange to BTC might be beneficial.

May all be true,
but the risk to accept SLL is simply too high.

There's no way to check if an inworld SLL-payment is legit (the Risk-API is useless), so the BTC-seller might end up with nothing.
Besides that, LindenLabs doesn't even need a reason to remove SLL from your account (IOW: steal your money), if they want to do it, they will.

at virwox you can buy SLL and then sell it. Now you have no way to deal with inworld SLL at virwox.
