Title: Threads with almost the same topics Post by: Fantastic33 on March 24, 2018, 01:42:08 PM I dont know if its right to post topic like this, but i just wanted to ask is there something we can do to prevent or limit posting of the same topics? While reading on different threads i noticed that topics that were posted are almost the same. I dont know if some are posting these topics because they wanted to learn, are curious, wanted to share new knowledge, or they only wanted to increase their posts. Wherein some of the topics or questions posted can be searched on different sites. Whats also disappointing is that there are some users who reply but are just copy pasting. I observed it while reading replies on local board. At first, i was amazed of the long reply that one of the users posted in, its like a poem, then i found out that it was lyrics of an old song...and thanks for those who report those users who used to plagiarize.

Im just sharing my observations. No offense. If there's duplicate threads then report the new one with a link to the older one and they'll likely be removed. Also report users just copy and pasting irrelevant stuff. It's much easier to get away with this in local boards that don't have many mods who can understand the language. The entire Vietnamese board was mostly just users copy and pasting bits of crap like nursery rhymes to farm their accounts and cheat signature campaigns and it went noticed for quite some time because nobody was reporting it. I also find these type of some post like same as other.I don't understand why people ask a question without searching these type of question already posted or not. And it is a matter of laughing that some newbies are writing post directly copy from google.We should report them to reduce spamming.I also try to catch them.Im just sharing my observations. It could be restricted to members and above.

It could be restricted to members and above. Meta would need to be allowed for the ban appeals. I've suggested something similar before. Newbies should be allowed in Beginners and Help as well. I really don't think lower ranks should be able to create threads in Politics and Society and Off Topic or maybe even post in there at all until they've hit a required rank because they're just breeding grounds for people who can't speak English very well or know nothing about bitcoin to spam a load of crap in there almost exclusively until they rank up. I know the merit system was implemented to stop this but there still should be restrictions on who can post what where to stop a certain amount of spam. The main Bitcoin sub is mostly unusable to discuss anything of value because it's just swamped by low value trash being constantly bumped to the top. |
