Title: [ANN] First steps for a community coin
Post by: MBible on March 24, 2018, 04:11:57 PM
Hello guys,

I am willing to start developing, alongside you guys, a community based coin.
So we gotta find answers to the following questions:

1. Consensus : POW only, POW/POS[MN], POW/POS[MN&Stacking], POS only
2. If POW, what algo would be best
3. Privacy coin or not?

When we find answers to these questions, we can draw a team that fits the coin needs and i will announce the open positions.

Thanks for your help and for your interest in building a decent community coin.

Reserved for mining pool.

Scrypt algo, POW with 365% POS, very low premine for coin development and listing fee should be fine.

I am not very found of premine for listing. Wouldn't be better to ask the community for the exchanges of their choice and then raise the funds from donations?

If we are going to have POW and a coin that would be mineable by the whole community, i guess we gotta stay away from the algos that can be mineable by ASICs (i.e Scrypt, SHA-256, X11, Skein, etc.).
What do you think?

Any algo that's not ASIC friendly, or at best the algo that's CPU only. (YeScrypt)
PoW with Masternodes would be lovely.

Maybe the community will shoot some oppinions on implementing Komodo. I am curious how the ppl are receiving it.
And of course i guess we need more answers for the first 3 questions.

what you are trying to do is tame a beast! the idea is grand and very positive but it is so damn hard to get viable results from the crowd found here!

I try to find out what are the most apreciated things in a coin and then i will try to involve the community in creating it. And i am sure that we all feel the need of a decent project, TRANSPARENT, FAIR and also that can provide UTILITY.
