I want to know steps using which a bct user can protect his profile and even when it get hacked then how he can recover that. To recover your account in case you get hacked: stake your bitcoin address with a signed message in this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0) so you can recover your acc with a signed message. Install a parental control on the browser and set it to allow only bitcointalk.org to be visited No public wifi No weak password No password stored on a cloud Don't click on weird links Use plugin like NoJS Change the password from time to time well, the basics... Best way to protect your account is to protect your computer, install strong antivirus program with real time protection, stay away dangerous websites, never click a strange links. Use a strong and complex password for your account. Modern windows OS offers great protection from the start, I doubt you will need additional antivirus. Windows defender paired with common sense are the best protection ::)Strong password is a must, but strong doesn't mean complex, in fact people tend to forget their complex password. https://xkcd.com/936/ If you insist on using complex password, I'd suggest to use password manager. If you see anything other than bitcointalk then get out of that website immediately.
Some people can hide the URL by using a domain like bitcoinwalk.org. Don't fall for it. |
