Nanopool is one of the biggest pools out there. They have been mining monero for a long time now and they EARN a lot from all the pool fees they collect. They will surely update and support the monero7 fork because it means money for them. I believe its only a matter of WHEN, not IF.

I'm very excited to see this fork coming, it's about time a good project stood up against Asics. My only question is when is this supposed to happen? First I heard early March now I'm hearing April 6?  ???

Hello All,

Bit of a newb here but Monero is changing it's aglo from cryptonight to... what?   Are they changing the algo itself to resist ASICs?  Def a newb in cryptography but all I can find is that XMRv7's cryptonight will be different than other coins that also use cryptonight.   Is that right?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, slightly modified Cryptonight to fightback current cryptonight ASIC's.

I would think so, but there has been no discussion on the topic from them....

I already have xmr stak 2.30 running on my XMR machines; so hopefully the switchover goes well for us....

diff is starting to really breakaway from the price;  so ASICS are definitely on right now =(

Theres more than just a few "tweaks" to combat ASIC they had already planned a bunch of new features

there is no clean "change notes" that Ive found yet on google but here is the github:
