I hate to necro an old thread, but is this still disabled?  I was just about to add it before the last attack >.<   Any plans to get this back and going?  Does it matter if my avatar has a kool cat in it?  that has to be worth something...

By the looks of things, yes. If you had read the thread you wouldn’t've needed to make your question. Avatars are disabled because the site was exploited by changing avatars. There's also several other topics on this on front page of Meta alone, but I'll give you credit for at least not making your own thread about it.

If you can read the thread without my advice, then why ask a question that has already been answered in this very thread and about six others on the first page of metal alone? You keep rolling your eyes but everything I've said is true, so you're being quite childish. I've just explained to you why avatars are disabled. They're not infected, the site was exploited by changing them, as I just said, so that's why the server of stock avatars cannot be used.

@hilariousandco you are one of those people who thrive on lecturing 'idiots' like me and you come across as absolutely revolting - not one I would ever befriend in real life..
I came to this thread to get an answer as to why the onsite avatars cannot be used - and now I just get lectured by your ego..

Not at all, you seem to be making a lot of assumptions about me. I never called you an idiot, you just seem to have taken it personally. My first post to you was completely neutral when I told you to read the rest of the thread, but you got all uppity and childish with the eye-rolling smilies and hostile attitude. Don't be condescending and ask questions that have already been answered and you wont get condescension back. If you read the rest of the threads in this forum by newbs asking the same old questions that have been answered multiple times daily, you'll see people have given far harsher responses than I have. You came to this thread to get an answer, and the answers were already there, and I again answered them with every single reply, but apparently that wasn't enough for you. And my first sentence would've avoided all this blabber - but oh no you couldn’t resist on being childish and condescending yourself so I had to deal with your ego that seems to have been damaged by a simple reply.

You smeared yourself, I'm afraid. I really don't need to show my superiority on an internet message board, especially with children who throw their toys out of their pram when their ego is bruised after they have proven to not be able to process even the simplest of information that they've been directed to. But well done in turning what was a simple instruction to read this thread for the information you seek into an argument just because you felt inferior and idiotic.
